I'd be horrified if we signed any of those 3! Hopefully just lazy journalism and linking to current/ex Newcastle players.

(Croydon Advertiser) Tiote hasn't played much for Newcastle in the last 2 seasons.About 30 appearances in 2 seasons.

Have to say that Pardew's reputation for signings isn't great for me and doesn't fill me with confidence. But maybe that's because he's unsure of how he want the team to play...

Pardew probably get grief about this even though it's complete boJJocks.

Tiote is s***, never heard of Santon but he he can't get a game for Newcastle then he must be s*** as well. Ba used to be alright but haven't seen him in a while and not convinced he'd be any better than what we have We're always been linked with ex-Newcastle players but thankfully we've avoided the likes of Colochini. Ha, fair enough. Does he play regularly? Just thought 'Newcastle' and a red flag was raised. He has not been bad when I have seen him. He was an Italy international, and was decent for a while at Newcastle. Not sure what happened to him, but he lost his place and ended up moving back to Italy. The players linked were all decent at one stage. That they played for Newcastle seems to have ruined some of them. That being said, some of the players looked reborn under Benitez. So it might not be the players that were crap. It probably has as much to do with a toxic club, crappy coaches the last 12 months, and overly critical fans. I am not saying I think these players are right for Palace, but Sevilla look for players who are out of favor and who have been playing poorly and snap them up for low fees. They then get them playing well again and sell them on. There was an excellent article in the Guardian about it, and I have heard a number of managers talk about how that is the best time to buy a player (despite the stick from the fans for doing it that way).
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

ISTR when Pardew was asked how he would manage Adebayor he said he'd dealt with much worse and then Demba Ba at Toontown was mentioned.
