Gather there will be a few posts on how people can expect to get their mitts on tickets but trying to figure out how the club can do this the fairest way.

Of course ST holders should be guaranteed 1 ticket per person that's expected but for the rest it really is going to be a free for all.

Anybody have any suggestions on the fairest way they'd like to see them sold?

I think after ST holders have purchased then a ballot for members would be a fair way to settle the argument but only members since the start of this season - I'm sorry but anybody who has bought a membership just so they could get a semi final ticket should be strongly discounted from applying for the final.

To be honest I can't see them changing it from the way they did the semi final allocation. Personally I think anyone who went to the semi final should get bonus loyalty points.

I understand this post will attract a lot of opinions that make it fair for 'that person' but I really hope that the club but the longer term support first over anything else once the ST holders have taken a ticket each. Naturally we have accrued a large volume of support since being in the premiership but for me this FA cup final isn't about those supporters that recently jumped on board & making sure they have a ticket, it's about those who have supported & had active memberships/ST's through thick & thin in the championship years & really hope the club have the sense to put the longer term fans first if there is any such way.

Season Ticket=1 ticket each
Gold Members (at start of season)
Silver Members
Members with membership 3 months before semi
Then any other members.
all 1 ticket each

How many ST holders are there?

If it was say:

1) ST holders -2 tickets BUT excluded from further tickets as outlined below.

next round

2) members with >x points

next round

3) members with >y points

etc.

And I agree, bonus points for those who went to the semi.

Problem is, with the "1 ticket each" approach, lots of people will be split up.

I'm not sure what the fairest way is TBH. Going by the "long term fan" point above, what if someone has gone to say 50 games over the last 20 years, mostly the big games? Shouldn't get priority over someone who's been to all games, home & away for the last 2 years, surely, even if they are "new"

That's a fair point - The club have never really facilitated the gold/silver membership thing against match tickets before I don't think? Can't recall it anyway!

But could be an option to have gold over silver for sure.

Hmm fair point also about the longer support thing - You have a point about people going to fewer games over the last 5 years than somebody going to every game since the premiership era.

I don't know what the answer is. I do know that whatever the club come up with there's going to be some disgruntled supporters.

I don't think ST holders should get 2 tickets each. If you did that you could sell all of them in the 1st phase.

I do think there should be fewer phases so people with different loyalty points can buy seats together but then I suppose some had mates in 2 stages after whereas with fewer stages you might have people thinking they might miss out waiting for phase 3 with more people in it.

I think anyone who's been fairly regularly qualifies. Anyone who doesn't hasn't spent the money at the club and has the choice of spending hundreds on the black market or the TV.

Well that is 100% guaranteed!

Well ideally, ST holders and members with points would get and hold tickets, with a legit way of swapping seats. But that is an administrative s***storm that I wouldn't want to be part of!

I started supporting Palace a couple of years ago had a ST this year and have bought a ST for next year. However people I go with have had ST for 20+ years... It means I sat at Semi Final on my own (although had very nice company)... It would be nice for the final if it wasn't done on loyalty points but then that is my very biased opinion!

P.S. I only jumped on "the premier league band wagon" as no-one in my family was a football fan and then my other half/his father took me to Villa v Palace and was hooked!

I think it's being over complicated.

The club should know who the top 28,000 loyalty point holders are. Send a message out to all of them letting them know they are in the top 28,000 and give them a chance to link their memberships with their mates who are also eligible so people can sit together. Then give them 48hrs to buy tickets.

I doubt we have many more members and season ticket holders than that so everyone who's gone to a few games should get one.
