Looks like it'd be a great read for anybody with access.
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |

Great story (below),good bloke and a beast on the pitch. I remember him scoring a penalty against Wimbledon and he hit it so hard I thought it was going to break the back of the net...

Can't access the full article, sadly. I don't know about the sheepskin coat, but I remember seeing him post-match one day coming out dressed all in black, with Cuban heeled boots and an ankle length red leather coat....... man of style was Andy!

I recall sitting right next to the late, great Bill Nicholson at Selhurst. I think the game was home to Huddersfield in the FA Cup.Nicholson was fulsome of praise for Andy Gray and Tottenham later signed him.

Loved Andy Gray, a very hard player. Definitely a legend. I remember a game at Stamford bridge many moons ago where he and Dennis Wise got sent off. They had a running battle all game. Wise apparently was sh1tting himself and left the ground still in his kit well before full time, brilliant! Edited by fed up eagle (21 Apr 2016 10.36am)

What a co-incidence as the infamous Trolley on the BBS also sat next to the late, great Bill Nicholson at Selhurst too and he also regaled him with fulsome praise for Andy Gray.

"We used to get up to some mad things. I roomed with Mark Dennis, who was a lovely guy, but crazy. We used to trash everyone’s rooms and spray Zorro in shaving foam on the mirrors" Spraying shaving foam on mirrors....? Mad! A bit tame by today's standard

Palace's very own ' Del-boy ' ! At his peak, just about the complete midfield player. He and Geoff Thomas used to bully the opposition, but Andy could play as well. I met him at the 1990 Cup Final team re-union dinner last year. A great character . The Club should look at getting him in as an Ambassador on match days, I think he's a natural ! He looked in good shape too, unlike when he appeared in a testimonial looking like a darker version of Neil Shipperly !

They both got sent off after about 10 minutes, several minutes after Andy blasted home a penalty.
