Has gone quiet recently

i thought this was the intention of bringing in investors to speed the process up. I was looking at the redevelopment of Ashton Gat (Bristol City) and this cost a mere 29mill to redo 3 stands and make it into 32 000 stadium surely this is something we can do even if it was double

I personally belive there is too much red tape around redeveloping selhurst. Parish would put plans in tomorrow If he could, unfortunately I don't think we are being told the full story. I can see why the board wouldn't as it's not exactly morale boosting telling the fans, crystal palace park and selhurst are both no go's so give up that dream.

It's a joke as I'm sure if they wanted to build a brand new apartment block or housing instead it would be giving the go ahead right away.

On a radio interview last week end Parish talked about making a couple of announcements at the end of the season. Presumably thats to do with rebuilding the main stand?

I think this season they have learnt to keep it quiet unless it's going to happen so until they have proper plans and the council has signed off we wont hear anything about it.

This type of thing does take a while to put together anyway.

Parish has always said he won't say anything until he knows he can deliver. He doesn't want everyone moaning when things have to change. I believe he has the council support with all the youth stuff going on and it is all about regeneration nowadays. Hard to be patient though I'm dying to see the plans.

Hopefully, it's just so frustrating how little backing we get from croydon coucil/local MP's ect, as a club we try so hard to keep the community and being proud of where we are from yet unless you are building huge apartment blocks for foreign investors the powers that be don't seem to care.

Me too but I am sure that the board is doing the right thing. Too much trumpeting of plans too early can only result in a residents campaign. The more that any potential difficulties with the council are sorted out privately the more chance there is that local politicians won't have a chance to jump on an anti CPFC bandwagon.

As nice as Bristol City's stands are, and as nice as their ground now looks, they are pretty standard stands.

Palace's Main Stand includes all the facilities, and they will want to cram in loads more bars, lounges and restaurants, so it is a big build that takes a lot of planning to get it right

If the plan is to demolish and rebuild the current Main Stand, they could do worse than think about rotating the pitch 90 degrees. Then:

The Holmesdale End could extend to become the Holmesdale Stand, with the Arthur Waite End and the newbuild End, plus a brand new Main Stand built in front of the current Sainsbury's monstrosity, using the extra 60 foot depth that rotating the pitch would create at the Whitehorse end.

I hope that makes sense, even if it's pie-in-the-sky.

Definitely a better solution but ruled out because it would nescessitate the compulsory purchase of a few houses.

But how many properties?

The Anfield Expansion (as anyone can see when they go there) is based on buying up properties and leaving them derelict, blighting the area and ruining the property value so that no one except Liverpool wants to buy them.

I am not suggesting we deliberately do that or that Liverpool has deliberately done that however with all the money floating around would that not be a realistic answer - offer those people whose light is taken etc a stupid amount of money to move, buy the property and then sell it once the planning is approved - probably at the same price at what we paid for it by the way.

I sometimes wonder if Croydon Council actually realise what an asset Crystal Palace is to the borough now we are in the Premier League - what the effect could be of a brand new shiny stadium on the surrounding area, that if it was managed correctly how it could benefit the local community - make the stadium multi use so that it is used in some way 7 days a week not just once a fortnight for 9 months of the year - all possible - it just needs planned correctly.

I started working in Azerbaijan nearly 19 years ago. The population here only knew Manchester United and Bobby Charlton back then. 6 months ago I am in a restaurant talking to a friend about football, mentioned Crystal Palace and the waiter serving us said "Crystal Palace? Good team" So okay , he doesn't know much about football, however he had heard of us.

So.......why wouldn't Croydon Council want to see a Premier League club with Worldwide Appeal have a fabulous new stadium that could even be part of a fantastic re development of Thornton Heath.

What else does Croydon have except East Croydon Station (and its quick access to London and Gatwick) that is of any real value to Croydon?

what I read some months ago, that Croydon will let us build as they don't want us to move away and the other thing I read they are waiting to see where we are playing before they rebuild
