What happened to our interest in Slimani?

I heard UTD showed interest too but they do not seem really interested. We should try to put some extra effort to bring him in.

Shopping in 'Lidl' rather than 'Waitrose'. Realistically we are NOT getting into Europe nor going down so why not wait until the summer when we could get much better value for money ? Perhaps this is the thinking of the 'Board' !

Maybe Parish and Co should have kept quite about what they intended to bring in this window then we would not have the daily media search for our new Centre Forward.

Apparently Porto aren't intending to sell his team mate, Yacine Brahimi, to us either, according to BBC Gossip page. I wonder what other players they're not intending to sell to us?

The rumour mill seems busiest over Remy heading over to Selhurst, but if there really is also serious interest in Slimani coming as well....just imagine the celebrations if both Slimani AND Remy turned up at our traing ground!

We've been heavily linked to Slimani in the last 3/4 windows. I think there is some truth in it, but because he's banging in the goals for Sporting they are very reluctant to let him go. Unless he agitates for a move or his club want to offload him (which doesn't seem likely atm) then there's not much more we can do except keep enquiring every opportunity we get.

Read in one of the reports that he does have a release fee clause (think it was 20 mill+) but the clause can only be activated in the summer so unlikely they will sell him in January
