With Bamford set to return to Chelsea a player of Adebayor's experience and goal scoring ability would be a very good swap. Giving him 6 months would be a decent option as even at, say, eighty thousand a week cost less than 3m. A loan player will attract a fee of around one million and very likely another million plus in wages. Obviously we will still need to get a decent permanent signing in if possible, especially if Gayle goes. Adebayor is someone who will try hard for a short spell of five or six months. I cannot see him being allowed to affect team morale.

Adebayor ought to bring down his high wages for the privilege of being able to play in any Premiership team and to have the chance of rejuvenating his career.

There are prolific strikers in Europe who are match sharp, like Slimani, Zaza or Batshashuyi scoring plenty of goals. Would cost loadsa money of course ... But would be potentially much better longer term investments. Finding a striker who really can score regularly in the PL is like gold dust, and Adebeyor certainly isnt it.

If he's in shape and if he's motivated it would be the best signing we could make on a six month deal. Absolutely awesome. Adebayor in his first six months with any new side tends to be of the very highest quality. Then he gets a long-term contract and loses interest. Yes, please.

Bamford has returned back to his mothership club now! If he is the difference between 10th and 4/5/6th then 2/3 million in wages is far out weighed!
