Just got a Kodi box for Christmas, and looking to get some add ons downloaded for watching football etc. It has come pre-loaded with 1Channel, Genesis, Icefilms, Phoenix and Navi-X.

I'm looking for a reliable add on for watching the football, possibly even willing to pay a subscription for a decent service.

Anyone got any recommendations, or anything I should be getting?

Give "SportsDevil" a try.

Robocop is by far the best for Premier League. Every game has 3-6 streams that are HD quality.

I usually find a stream from Premier League Pass by going through:

Phoenix > staal2014 > Live TV > Live games

Palace match links tend to come up from about 20 mins before ko, and there is usually 3/4 streams available.

If this fails, try USA/Canada tv and check out Sportsnet, SportsnetOne and NBCSN, who frequently show Palace games, all for free, although quality on these can vary....

I've got the FireStick TV.
Thanks for that Becky, never knew about that link.

You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.

SportsAccess.se is decent and about £20 for 3 months. Can't beat the quality of their streams imo.

Massive +1 for this. Been using them all season and they've been phenomenal. 20% off if you use the code koditips I believe. About £15 for 3 months.

Been hearing a lot about these boxes. I was wondering if you guys who have already got one could clear a few things up for me?

1. Do you have to buy these jailbroken to get kodi and the football and stuff on them?

2. Are the streams poor quality and always buffering like trying to watch them on online streaming sites or are these streams different?

3. Can you get apps which broadcast all the satellite channels, which would make it a viable alternative to a Sky/Virgin package?

Also if anyone has a link to a good one to buy from amazon/ebay it would be much appreciated as well. Cheers guys.

I am no expert on these, but have been learning my way around ours slowly......

1) We've got this one.... [Link]

cheap and cheerful but does the job, (after a major disaster with a Matricom box that wouldn't work). Has kodi and all the major links pre-loaded, plus also has a card reader slot. They don't need to be 'jailbroken'

2) quality can vary - some will buffer occasionally, but only for a few seconds, although many will play unbroken for the whole match - possibly affected by the number of people watching that stream, same as the online sites (but without annoying pop-up ads!)

3).There are no 'apps' on an android box - only repositories - you download the ones you want (good basic ones are fusion and metalkettle) for which there are many videos on youtube, which you will need to follow until you get used to the format. Satellite channels show up all over the place - with a bit of searching around through various sources you can usually find a stream that is working. Using one of these is deffo not a 'plug-and-play' thing, sometimes you have to work for your sports streams.

That said, Genesis (from the fusion repo) has just about every film and tv series that you can think of, in full HD, usually with multiple streams to choose from, and often up and running the day the film is released!

Hope this helps, but I am sure someone more experienced with them than me will be along soon......

1. No

2. The quality is great on some and bad on others. If you go with the add ons mentioned above then you won't be disappointed. With buffering it depends on your internet connection but I reckon it also depends on the feed too.I have a super fast internet speed but it still buffers every now and then but only for a couple seconds but against Bournemouth it was much worse than usual.Probably because at a little ground like that they are still using dial up .Never pay though for a streaming site.I used sportsaccess.se for a while and it was great but no better than three or four free ones I use now.

3. Yes you can but don't bother. They never consistently work.It would never be a reliable alternative to sky.

I'd also buy a known brand box that can have kodi on it like apple tv or Amazon fire etc.I done so much research and got a minix box that had the best reviews everywhere and was apparently the God of the minix boxes. It wasn't terrible but it was sometimes sluggish, the remote was terrible and a few other niggles.

No just buy one pre loaded on ebay for £40

2. Are the streams poor quality and always buffering like trying to watch them on online streaming sites or are these streams different?
A lot will depend on your connection whether Wifi or ethernet as well but njm sports have great streams for free. Some of these are better than my Virgin channels!!

3. Can you get apps which broadcast all the satellite channels, which would make it a viable alternative to a Sky/Virgin package?
Yes however they're being taken down all the time so be prepared to continually look for new add ons or streams to use

Also if anyone has a link to a good one to buy from amazon/ebay it would be much appreciated as well. Cheers guys.
