Shoreham Tragedy

We have our rivalry with Brighton but some of you may know a couple of lads from down that way were tragically killed in the Shoreham air show crash the other day: Brighton and Hove Albion Chief Executive Paul Barber and manager Chris Hughton have paid tribute to two young footballers who were killed in the Shoreham plane crash. Matt Grimstone was a groundsman at the club's training ground in Lancing. He also played as goalkeeper for Worthing United. He was killed when a car he was travelling in with fellow Worthing player Jacob Schilt was struck by the vintage jet. Mr Barber said the whole club was devastated to 'have lost two young men with their whole lives ahead of them.' A minute's silence will be held ahead of their next home match against Hull. Jacob Schilt played in the last three REMF games between Palace and Brighton fans. REMF is a charity set up in the aftermath of another terrible tragedy, in honour of Robert Eaton, who died in the 9/11 attacks. At times like this we should put the rivalry aside for a while and pay our respects to the families of these young men, and all others who died at Shoreham

My nephew was best mates with Matt Jones who also died, another brighton lad, so rivalry is out the window at the moment
