Pards was being interviewed by Geoff Shreeves in Sky's coverage of the launch of the league, and said we should have another one in today. Anyone know who? There's been a couple of comments from people on here to suggest people have an idea.

Makes you laugh, page after page of player X, speculation about player Y, and enough eyes out there either in the press or social media....how something stays quiet in this day and age, I'll never know. You'd think it would be a loan (based on the presumption that it's easier to keep a loan quieter than a transfer), so Zouma would be an unbelievable addition to the squad. PARDEW: PALACE SIGNING EXPECTED TODAY Alan Pardew is the latest manager to speak to Sky Sports at the Premier League launch. He has told reporter Geoff Shreeves he is expecting Crystal Palace to wrap up a signing today – but he would not be draw into naming the player. He said: “I’d like to think we’d get one done today. I know you’ve been pushing me on it but I’m not going to give you a name because I never do until they are completely done. If we can get him over the line he’s an exciting player as well. I’ll be looking forward to seeing him. “We’ve got a bit more business to do,” Pardew added. “We might have to bring one more in but we’re pretty close. I’d run through the season with the group we’ve got now. We’re a fuller group with strength in every position. We’re well set.”

Peter finch who is @EDS_amy colleague is gates they are pretty sure is a CB but don't know who. Obviously I don't know if this is true just passing on what I have seen

my guess is Kurt Zouma season long loan I could be wrong but I think we can only loan 1 player from Chelsea so this would have to be permanent. However I can see a loan of Phillips with a couple of our fringe players going other way on either permanent or loan deals
