A forward who worked quite hard but very rarely troubled the scorer!

Lightweight, I'm afraid, Kenners. Tried hard but not up to standard and those were the days of Per Bartram, Jimmy Scott and Willie Wallace among others so he had lots of competition at that level. Failed to score in 23 starts + 6 as sub. He did well playing up front with Ross Jenkins in the reserves in one season, I think he got about 20 goals - that was probably 70/1 or 71/2 or thereabouts. This is the 71/2 squad, he's far left in the middle row. Attachment: CPFC 71-2.jpg (584.47Kb)
Zaha, Williams, Murray, Ambrose, Scannell. A 5-man forward line who scored 3 goals in 10 minutes on 27th September 2011 at ....................... |

I thought I'd read somewhere that he had been successful in business, engineering possibly.

I saw him play. He didn't play that many games, always did his best but sadly not quite good enough. If I remember correctly he was a school teacher and remained an amateur. Think he moved on to play for Exeter.
