First Cabaye now this. Top, top players. If we were to land someone like this it's going to be a very exciting season.

When's the last time an Italian player was successful in the premier League tho? Recently Aquilani, borini, and lamely (I know) have all been flops when they've succeeded in serie a. It just seems like such a huge gamble.

Graziano Pellé at Southampton.
David Osvaldo at Southampton.
Davide Santon at Newcastle.
Mario Balotelli at MAN CITY. (Not Liverpool, crikey.)
Vito Mannone at Sunderland.

You're right though. Other than that, not many. But they're all pretty decent (obviously apart from Balotelli. Lol.) If it's success and careers that have 'flourished' in this league that you're talking about, then all of those players have made it.

By the way. Who is Lamely?? Do you mean Erik Lamela? Who is Argentinian?

I could see us loaning him. Are there many International loanees though? Seems odd to pack your bags for England temporarily.

I don't see us in for him at 20mil, but the fact that we're being linked with big money moves shows that we either are now at a level where can go for the big names or have to go in for big names in order to appear that we are not punchng above our weight in the league.

He did score a goal every 83 minutes last season with 13 goals in 15 league starts.

Wouldn't exactly call santon, Osvaldo or mannone successes. In your opinion that's the calibre of player we should sign? And yeah I meant lamela, I know he's argentinian, hence the parentheses. But he flourished and grew up in the Italian league then struggled here. f*** off.

Your right Italian players do not seem to travel too well, not too many seem to succeed outside Serie A and that does not just include the Premier League, that's all the top Leagues in Europe.
