Morning All,

I am a first time voter, Never 'Studied' politics in an educational term but always watch Question time and listen to LBC

I am really struggling to relate to any party at the moment; What is it you look for in a party? What swings you to vote for X / Y.

There is a split within my family of Tories and UKIP and both have been pushed onto me but i do not wish to be swayed to vote in lieu of my parents / grandparents / uncle / aunts voting opinions.

Its a big deal to me, as when i watched the 2010 elections i felt betrayed as the Lib dems turned their back on the younger generation by for what i see, plain balls***, via increasing their student fee's. I almost feel an instant dislike for the party and feel i will never vote for them. As for all the others, man i just do not know where to look, what to read, and how to make my decision.

Sorry if this is boring and stuff but i am just seeking some help / advice!

thanks in advance!

RIP staffie

101 to British Democratic politics.

You either are disappointed, because your party didn't win, or disappointed when they fail to live up to your expectations (and their word) if they win.

Yes, very strong constituency here - but again, i do not wish for that to sway my vote.

Firstly, they're all cvnts, secondly they're all cvnts.

With that in mind, vote for whoever will move the country forward in the direction you would like. I was advised many years ago to vote for the party that suited me personally, which I think is the wrong way to view it.

I have canvassed for the 'Conservatives' for many years in the 'Surrey East' consistituency both at a local and national level. Also done 'Telling' at the polling station, been to the count etc etc etc.

Anyway I am not going to get on my political 'Soapbox' on HOL as it will only turn into a WILLO thread !!!!
I have got a great deal to do for the coming election so my political energies will be concentrated in that direction.I will not rise to the 'Bait' and will let the others engage in political debate on HOL !!!!

Not interested in party politics anymore - happy to discuss and debate specific issues, but not interested in what may or may not have been in a manifesto.

If you live in Scotland, you can vote SNP and in the not too distant future they will achieve their aim of independence eventually, whilst in the meantime blackmailing the rest of us into more and more concessions..... so your vote will count.

For the rest of the UK, it's almost a waste of time.

Labour - will fcuk up the economy again by overspending.
Conservatives - will renege on EU reform promises and migrants will continue to pour in.
Libdems - utter sh1tehawks who couldn't organise a p1ss up in a brewery
Greens - new age loonies with unworkable policies.
UKIP - one man band really, too many loose cannons and people with embarrassing past history like Nigel Hamilton.
The rest - too small to make a difference.

I will probably vote UKIP nonetheless as I believe the UK infrastructure cannot withstand continual mass immigration, and EU interference.

The polls suggest a stalemate again like 2010.

How about a Labour/SNP coalition?

Fine if you want a ruined economy again and no nuclear defence deterrents.
