1,200 million Muslims in the world. A few million are sect-based jihadi nutters and nothing like the others. So if the other 99% are not engaged in nor sympathise with extreme religious violence then I suppose it is fair to say it can be classed as very peaceful overall - unlike plenty of politicians - and made up of people just like you and me more concerned with friends, food, sport and tv than Sharia.

Same god as yours mind. Its a good job that Christianity doesn't have a history of persecution, intolerance and suppression. Have you tried forgiveness?

There is obviously a very real problem with Islam globally right now. However as a Christian I refuse to be drawn into a mutual hatred, and in fact go out of my way to be extra kind to Muslims I encounter. Tit for Tat is not the way and contrary to the teachings of Jesus. PS Starting faith based threads on a football board is guaranteed to get you some abuse, get your tin hat on!

Hezbollah for example, don't really care too much for western society. Simiarly, most Hamas, another large scale organization of radical muslims aren't 'enemies of the west'. In fact most of these movements, that are radical and contain muslim, are nationalist movements, such as Chechan rebels etc (which the West has harboured). Even Iran, a hotbed of radicalism, isn't too worried about eliminating the west, and is happy to occasionally work with them (such is in Iraq and against IS). A consequence of the West's invasion of Iraq has been to directly support the Al-Queda style message that the West is the enemy. Unsurprisingly, when you invade countries and kill people - other people with a relationship to them get pissed at you. Turns out the truth is more complicated, always, than them vs us.

ISIS actually hate everyone. They would if they could kill 100% of Christians and ever Muslim that doesn't adhere to their insane interpretation of Islam.

The key to remember is 'with some forms of Islam and some muslims'. Like christainity, its important to remember that most forms of christainity are full of ranting, right wing nutbars who hate everything and everyone who isn't a right wing Christian nutbar. Most people are reasonable, its the minority that a f**ktards that generally spoil it for everyone else, usually with sweeping generalisations that associate the people who aren't a problem with the few that are
