Say ministers and the civil service: People on it are getting work quicker and more money than previous incarnations of benefits system, says report. Or, to be more accurate, says Ian Duncan Smith! Some, including the National Audit Office, would disagree. Now, who should we believe; the man responsible for implementing the failing system, or those who are responsible for monitoring the failure? Hmmm... a tough one!

Can't work out if this has been posted in a sarcastic tone. Quotation marks presumably mean you don't believe a word of it? I can't remember a government managing to implement such a popular policy in such an incompetent manner.

If it was true, they wouldn't have to say it, would they? Total farce. Baffled anyone would think otherwise.

Yes, and they originally claimed they would save £2bn. Plus, if Duncan Smith says it, it's almost certainly a lie. Of this government of spivs, con-artists, poshies and tax-dodgers, he's the dodgiest of the lot. Plus he lies the most, plus even his government colleagues think he's thick. Which he is.

Have a read of what is actually happening, rather than believe a politician, especially one who never tires of patting himself on the back!

Doesn't necessarily mean its a success if it saves money. Arguably you could just stop all benefit and claim it was a success because it saved revenue. Here in lies the inherent problem of not employing independent bodies to confirm any statement or data presented by politicians as to the success or failure of their policy. Success is a very broad term. Conservative MPs have recently been hailing the success of British Drug Policy because the levels of use in society have dropped, despite the fact it has absolutely nothing to do with their policy (or the predecessors, or their predecessors).
