Oh dear. Br*ghton Council is riven by bickering and divides in the ruling Green administration. Refuse workers going on strike. Huge council tax rises. How can they be trusted to run anything?

So, you don't want to debate the issue, just throw this kind of stuff at it to bury the issue. The fact is, the Greens record at running Br*ghton Council has been pisspoor. How can they convince people, and what evidence is there, that they can run political office successfully?

The people of Brighton voted Green and that is what they have got. Are you perhaps saying that the electorate didn't really understand policies of the Green Party? Unfortunately, green initiatives are costly to implement and on top of all our other current fiscal issues, now is probably not the time to go overboard with them. I have some sympathy for the Party who are trying to honour their manifesto but personally, at this time I would regard some of their initiatives as inappropriate luxuries.

Question should probably be whether it's the ideology here that has caused the problem, or just the fact that middle class hippies aren't the most efficient administrators of a council. I'd say given that their recycling rates are so guff, it's probably the latter.

I like the Greens though.

Granted its the German Green Party but it is a shared ideology and shows what these people are capable of considering suitable:

They think their ideas reduce suffering but the practical implementation of them increases it. The grannies who will die this winter due to not heating their homes because of the fifteen percent higher energy bills in part due to 'green' requirements are just one of the practical outcomes of this. lovable hippies.......Indeed.
