Anyone who even saw Saville could kind of tell that hardly anyone really knew him and that very few people were close to him......But no....Nick 'bull in a china shop' is allowed to type any crap he likes. Just how many people knew Saville but didn't know he was a pedeophile? It must be tons. The connection you make with Thatcher is truly disgraceful. It's implicit, 'you were his mate, so you're infected' You are out of order but as you're on a keyboard you don't pay the price.

Stirling, I think the original post was reasonable. Reading the link, the story is all about released government papers, not a journalist's comments. It is a perfectly reasonable view someone could have that Mrs Thatcher's (certainly seeming) friendship with Saville is worthy of note (and ill judged) in retrospect. That's perfectly reasonable comment about someone in their public life. I had a friend who worked at No 10 with her a lot in a civil service role. They said she was always extremely nice and considerate to employees there. However, politically, I personally feel no problem in saying I view her as a "monster".
