Used to happen (Not on same scale!) in the old days at 'Selhurst Park' when the Holmesdale was a terrace. No wonder one couldn't find any paper in the toilets at bottom of Holmesdale when one had a bowel movement. Edited by Willo (17 May 2014 8.29am)

Right. But in this country it's appalling how we're controlled from doing this sort of stuff.... the police tried to ban a Southend Utd fan from going to the ground after he did it once!!! You can't expect to get away with it if you sling an object on to the pitch.I don't know what happened in terms of the incident at Southend but maybe the toilet roll was thrown in the direction of a specific player. Leave the rolls in the bogs please so they can be used for the purposes they are intended.Think of your fellow supporters who are greatly inconvenienced when they cannot find any paper after they have had a bowel movement. I was a phantom bog roll flinger in the 70's from the Holmesdale terrace. My ultimate achievement was to get the roll to unfurl over the crossbar and hit the opposition keeper. I did achieve this famously on a friendly v Stoke and the keeper was Gordon Banks. He had a laugh with the crowd as he cleared his goal and sent it back.

Seems a bit pointless to me. Yes and the 'Fad' merely encouraged supporters to clear the toilets of toilet rolls which meant that those who went for a bowel movement were greatly inconvenienced. Not good.

Is the away dressing room floor not available in such circumstances? Quote Willo at 17 May 2014 12.56pm

As I recall, mostly we didn't do bog rolls cos they were too big. Instead we nicked the rolls that went into bus ticket machines, really long and about 1/3rd the width. Quite heavy so flew straight and true. Ah, the good old days.....
