You guys must be so happy with this season especially after the dodgy start. I think you should accept that Palace should aim just to stay up for the next 3 seasons or so. That will need fairly large investments but there is of course the danger of over-committing. Look at the likes of Wolves, Blackburn, Portsmouth and Bolton. As a Reading fan we tried to do it on the cheap twice and it didn't work. So there needs to be a middle way. If you can keep Pulis then survival should be accepted as success. We fell foul of a dodgy Russian takeover, over spent on wages and are now lumbered with two players getting £65k pw with long contracts. I would guess that Parish is worth about what Madjeski was worth when we first went up (£350m?). Mr Mad is down to his last 100m You will need also to invest in the infrastructure which I understand is pretty poor. Anyways good luck to Palace and think of us as we are flirting with administration. Do you want a new CF and winger for free? Pogrevniac and Drenthe, Both with premiership experience and one ex Real Madrid. You would be doing us a great favour ha ha

Have a few Reading mates and hope you can turn things round soon. Gutted you got pipped to the playoffs by sodding Brighton too!

Firstly, thanks for good wishes 'paddy' <thumbs up> If we go down next season then I doubt it'll be for a lack of trying either on or off the pitch bud. 2nd tier football is where we are historically placed which 'aint so bad really considering the amount of teams in the league, but yeah, to build 'slowly' on what we've achieved since CPFC2010 took over is the way forward. All the best next season

You would be doing us a great favour ha ha Thanks Paddy - Reading is always a good away day so hope to see you in the Prem. Good analysis. I think where we are in a better position than Reading were is that we have the experience of Pulis who has seen this all before. We will hopefully learn from the mistakes that Stoke made.

A good read that Paddy20. Reckon some of us will get ahead of ourselves and think we are a top ten club next season. Staying up for me early doors, beating a few big teams and a bit of development in the squad and club will do me. All the best for Reading next season ! Edited by martinb75 (10 May 2014 8.13pm)

Always had a soft spot for Reading since they were managed by Sir Steve!

Didn't you read the script Reading, you were meant to win on the last day of the season to stop the Seaweed getting in the playoffs. Thankfully we will all enjoy watching them get smashed by Derby tomorrow instead!
