Can we keep the atmosphere?

If we stay in the PL for a while, and inevitably attract new fans, do you think we can keep the atmosphere? Most of our supporters (at the moment) have experienced doom, gloom, near extinction, relegation, promotion and even glory. Which I believe is what makes the atmosphere. I would hate us to end up like the kind of fans who clap politely when we score. Plus, I hate prawns!

Thoughts?

Systematically dragged down by the lawmakers

I have a similar feeling, would take a good few years before it happens though but even this season near the middle there were a few "off" matches

You can't keep that intensity up every week. It will be great everysooften which is miles better than most clubs!

I don't think life at Selhurst Park is going to suddenly get staid and boring. Next season's going to bring its own share of adversity, nail-biting drama and vital six-pointers.

Ye those six-pointers against arsenal/everton/tottenham for 4th place are going to be crucial

Yeah, that's what I meant, obviously - vital not to drop into the Europa League spot!

I think the atmosphere is one of the reasons we are attracting new supporters.

I can only see the holmesdale fanatics getting bigger and taking a larger area and lets face it they are the driving force for the great atmosphere.

I would no we won't as I think it's been worse this season than last already. Suppose only time will tell though.

I really hope we can keep it going as fans. It has been one of my absolute highlights this season! Feel so proud to be a Palace fan!

Really? Where were you on Monday during the last quarter of an hour? What about the Chelsea game? The only reason these games weren't as good as some of the great games in the past is that we are no longer allowed to cram in 51,801 people, mainly standing. I was impressed with the Whitehorse by the way, definitely getting louder.

The first half of the season it was hard going as the play on the pitch didn't help the cause but it's certainly getting going again.

Let's hope the new fans self-select as people that want to add to the atmosphere rather than just observe.
