As it says on the tin. We've had an exceptional season from the nationwide credibility of our fans, to the huge magnificent effort every single one of our players has shown, to the intelligence and bravery CPFC2010 have displayed.

The summer will be interesting with the ins and outs of the squad, but for now - at least until the end of the season, can we just sit back, enjoy and put into perspective what we have achieved. Even if we lose our next 2 games, we are unlikely to finish any lower than 12th. Let's not talk about who needs replacing, or who we need to get rid of right now. Every single player, even the ones that have had minimal game time, deserve the upmost respect and positivity for what they have helped the club achieve this season.

I've been guilty of it too, but there's a time and place to talk about what next to do with the squad. Right now isn't it. Legends, the lot of them. Give them the respect they deserve.

Love speculating about who we may sign but have to say I will go along with your post - quite correct.

Couldn't believe the amount of complaining and moaning going on around me yesterday. String a few good results together and suddenly we're supposed to be world beaters! These are the best 2 seasons I've seen here since 89-91 - enjoy it folks!

We weren't very good yesterday, there was a distinctly hungover feel about the performance and if you play like that against a fired up Man City there will only be one winner. Frankly though, I couldn't really give a f*ck, we did it when it mattered.

All heroes and deserve praise not unwarrented critiscm as so many on the Hol like to dish out,it was a team effort to keep us in the Prem and we should be grateful for the efforts of the whole squad and not at this time be talking of who to get rid of etc.No doubt that in the summer players will come and go but for now let them enjoy the great thing they have acheived.

Totally agree. It's been an incredible season, to finish 11th/12th is a miracle. Tony Pulis and the players rightly should be proud of what they have achieved. Yesterday was a reminder that we are playing in a league with World Class players and competing. Yaya Toure was fantasitc and we should except that and enjoy the fact we get to see them.

2 games to go (sadly for me only Liverpool live) and we should all sit back and watch

Totally agree with the title.

That was a fired up City after the Liverpool result , especially Toure who is a monster.
They would have swept aside any Premier opposition yesterday and we did our best to compete.

We were playing the most expensive team in the world who were fired up by the Liverpool result. We had just been on a draining five-match run, including three in eight days, that culminated in our premiership survival. No wonder our standards slipped a bit. This has been a fabulous season and we can now look ahead to next season. Consolidation as a mid-table club would be just fine for me!

Exactly. And we did our bit to stop Chelsea winning the league. John Terry did at Selhurst as well. Hopefully Liverpool won't win it either so maximum upset for about 30 mins for them at the end of the season before Mummy wipes their drips.

I think once Chelsea had won, there was always a sense of "after the Lord Mayor's Show" about yesterday's game and this was heightened with Dzeko's early goal. Players like Kompany and Toure really weren't going to let a title slip for the second or third time in a single season and while we didn't play badly, they really were -- expectedly -- a class apart. Fair enough.

I thought the game was a measure of how far we'd come. Notwithstanding that our lack of real penetration was a bit disappointing, we moved the ball around nicely at times, had our share of possession, we looked organised, and generally made City work for their win. Nothing to complain about; top class we're not but we no longer look out of place or over-awed in the Premiership.

I also thought the game was a timely reminder to the board that Pulis needs to be backed if we want to move on a level. I think our present squad is better than many give it credit for and our place in the table is not entirely false. With three of four Premiership players of Ledley/Dann quality coming in over the summer, I see no reason why we can't perform comfortably in the 9th-14th part of the table next season. I am also delighted that, unlike Hull, we didn't spunk all our money on two very pedestrian forwards in the January window because I think we can do much better than Long and Jelavic over the summer.
