Got to admit, I was one of the people who was looking forward to relegation and getting back to a proper division next season, as I thought that the gap between us and the money boys was so vast that we simply wouldn't be able to compete and it would just be a miserable existence. After last nights performance, It showed me how much we have moved on as a club, and can actually compete in this division. I am happy to say I was wrong and now realise that the Championship is not as i thought a better experience, just a different experience. As it looks like we will stay in this division now, i am ready to embrace the new season and am already excited about new players that may come and what upsets we can cause. Will still always be on guard for fans who start to expect us to be instantly successful.

If we don't do the same then we will get left behind. Second season syndrome beware.

It looks likely that the club that spent the most in getting to and trying to stay in the Premiership is going to be the one being relegated. After all the criticism, it seems that Palace's transfer policy has worked. Lets hope we can repeat it year on year. That said, although I have loved us staying in the PL but I'm really not that bothered which league we play in so long as we don't bust the bank trying to stay or get back to the PL.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I can't believe we are thinking about next season in the Premiership when we still have four games to go. Usually our seasons go right down to the wire - remember Stockport, Charlton, Sheff Utd, Arsenal etc etc. How are we going to enjoy the reduced anxiety levels - relax and enjoy ourselves, or what?

It's very difficult to think who we could afford and who would come to us that are better than what we've got. For me the key is buying young talent from the lower divisions that are gonna be great in the future.

No doubt Premier managers and players work out the opposition after a while. It happens with players too, as when a youngster hits the first team and causes a stir. Then they find out what leg he uses most, his weaknesses etc. Thus Palace as a team need to add difference to style and squad. Cannot see any other way.
