HoL Awards - NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN (LOCKED)

It’s now time to submit your nominations for the 2013/14 HoL awards.

For each of the categories below, you can nominate up to three people/threads. Each of your nominations will be counted equally. If you only want to make one or two nominations in any category that is fine.Also, if you do not want to make any nominations at all in any particular category, that is also fine.

Once all nominations have been received, then the top three in each category will go forward to the final round of voting.

Nominations are now open and will close at midnight on Saturday 26th April.

In order to submit your nominations, please cut and paste the text below into a PM and send to me (Sloveniadave). You can also post your nominations on the thread to promote debate and argument but please PM to me as well.

Seeing as no one has posted their own nominations on this thread yet for debate I'll start.

Best Hol Poster
1 - Willo. I actually made a lighthearted thread for this 3 months back (see [Link] for reasons). But I have really warmed to him. However don't expect him to stand when he gets his award!

2 - Nick Gusset. Nick is a great member of the HOL radio team and really keeps General Talk balanced from the evil righties. He posts a lot of threads and provides interesting comments in several other threads. Also he's a teacher like me so he better be included in the nominees or we'll strike.

3 - Seth. I wasn't hugely keen on him last year but since then I've really thought he is much improved. He's generally very positive, usually quite welcoming of new posters and is often very insightful (and inciteful!) with his views.

Best poster in Palace Talk
1 - Willo for much the same reason as I gave above.
2 - Advertiser Sport. I know they're not popular but they do post a lot of threads of interviews with players etc.
3 - Kermit8 - I know he's miserable sweaty but he makes me laugh.

Best Keyboard warrior
1 - Thommo1: I probably wouldn't have included him but the Murray thread, and his snotty and condescending responses make him a shoe in I think.
2 - Adrian B: Again, I think he managed to really get his flame on in a nice tete a tete with Sgt Bilk yesterday and has been involved consistently with the flaming throughout the season.
3 - Any of the righties in the Maggie Thatcher, Bob Crow and Tony Benn RIP threads.

I'll be interested to see what (if any) discussion my nominees for the top 3 awards provokes

Also just realised - no best young poster of the year this year? Have we just finally come to the view that they're all thick as s***, no nothing tosspots? Just kidding Lewisham Eagle, things went downhill after you though

19 doesn't count as young If you're old enough to be imprisoned for masturbating in public then you're too old to win young poster of the year

The Hol awards..... that time of year to slag off posters that you don't like by nominating them for keyboard warrior, or worst poster.

I usually do quite well in these categories.

Last year, I won "biggest c*ck " on the North Stand Chat" . No idea how they new, but still a very proud moment for me.
