While he has played well don't think he has been one of our better players although at times it feels like he is an unsung hero.

Without him in the team our set up just doesn't work, this is proven when he comes off for Murray and we have no outlet to hit. He is the front line of our defence and does a great job at it. Whilst frustrating infront of goal, his input into this season shouldn't go unregognised.

In Pulis' system, the sum is greater than the parts. Every part has a role and if they play it, the sum will take care of the results. The system isn't designed to produce 20 goals a seasons scorers; it's designed to create the chance to get a result and it doesn't matter who delivers the killer punch. To the degree that Jerome has played the role of the part he's been given almost to perfection, he has had a great season. But the term "Player of the Season" is a bit of a misnomer with Pulis because it's the system itself, rather than any one player, that's the real star.

Essential front man, would struggle to score in a brothel with a credit card glued to his dick, but he's been very important for us. His pace for a big guy is quite impressive, and his passing ability is excellent. If he could score one in four, he'd be one of the most sought after players in this league.

Indeed, Pulis system is about not conceeding goals, whilst optimising your chances to score goals. Jerome up front serves to a) keep their defence from pushing forward, whilst allowing us a capacity for possession in their half. His job isn't really to score so much as to hold up play to play in other goal scorers whilst remaining a threat (and to defend corners). Its not worthy that Jerome isn't the one left up front for breaks from opposition set peices - thats Puncheon. Realistically Jerome is there to create chances for Chamakh/Leadley, Bolaise and Puncheon and restrict the oppositions capacity to push up.

Jerome has a lot to offer - sadly lacking little confidence in front of goal. Still important to the team's progress this season.

Surely there is a player who can do what CJ does and can score goals. He needs to be greedy, but that does not appear to be his game. I suspect this makes him perfect for TP's system. But CJ is great to watch.
