I know it's been said before on here but just thought I would give it another mention. He has been colossus this season for us and I don't think any of us saw it coming. I remember when he was given a new contract in the summer and everyone was questioning the thought behind it but he has proved us all wrong. He rarely looks out of place in this league and is definitely up there with Ward and Speroni for POTY. Probably the biggest shock of the season (in terms of who would cut it in the prem) for me and I hope that, if we do stay up, he will still be at the centre of our defence come next season.

I have to admit, our defense last season - for whatever reason was not good enough - probably down to tactics more than anything. I expected Ward to keep his spot, but i didn't expect the rest to be so consistent - obviously we needed to add, to add cover, options, but the way Damo has been, you can tell he wants this

One of the players I have been totally wrong about. Always appreciated him, but did not think he was really up to it at this level. I was wrong.

Gabbidon didn't let anybody down either before Dann came in

Yup, I can admit that I was wrong about him, I really thought that he was just not quick enough at this level. But his positioning has been excellent along with his leadership and his partnership with Dann is becoming extremely intimidating for other teams.

Agree with all of that - he has stepped up amazingly. I bet he cant believe his luck and that he was going to chuck it all in and go out to try his luck in the US a couple of years ago because Ippo didnt want him

Always rated him, he got extra Palace brownie points for crying like a girl at Wembkey after the game too, showed how much it meant to him. From then on he's been. Itching short of superb. On a side note, as good as Dann has been, I do feel for Gabbidon, he didn't deserve to be dropped in my opinion, but it's a team game and the team has been doing better since I guess. Let's not forget his efforts if/when we stay up.

Agreed but as I said earlier, he always has a mistake in him, I think Dann is a level above him and Damo tbh, but I like to have a bit of a nutter (Damo) paired with a bit of a ball player (Dann)! I may be reading something out of nothing but at Wembley last year when the players went up to get their medals, Steve Parish hugged every one of them except Gabbidon, they just shook hands.
