Sorry if this has been covered in other threads, but what happened with Mourinho & the ballboy today? Couldn't see what was happening from the Holmesdale Upper. Anyone closer know what it was all about?

Heard on the radio that Jason called over to two ball boys not to return the ball. Then Mourinho says he went to the ball boy and told him not to wind up his players as there was a chance one of them would deck him.

Seemed to be fairly good natured in his handling of it.

He seems genuine enough in his interview saying he wanted to stop a Swansea situation rather than intimidate the ball boy.

It's a difficult one because under no circumstances is abusing a child acceptable but I did see both Puncheon and Jerome instruct the ball boys and it was pretty obvious the instruction was to time waste.

It's alright for Jerome, no one's gonna try and deck that 6 foot plus big bugger but in the heat of the moment one of these innocent kids could get hurt because they're doing what their idols tell them to do.

Personally, I don't think managers or players should be allowed any interaction with ball boys and in turn the rules should be stricter for them not to time waste.

On another note, the Marriapa time wasting yellow card was a complete farce. He was only holding onto the ball for a throw-in for about 5 seconds when he blew up!

Puncheon had told the ball boy to slow down in giving the ball back to the players. This wound up Cesar Az'whateverhisnameis' and he seemed to be demanding the ball back. Jose stepped in by getting Cesar away while wagging his finger at the BB then had a quiet word in his ear.

Think Mourinho said that John Terry's dad was going to sort him out in the car park afterwards.

He asked the ballboy "who is that number 8 for Palace? I've never noticed him before!"

Offer us a price Jose, go on!

I didn't realise that that little scuffle on the sideline centred around a ball boy, but I did notice on 83 minutes, chelsea win a corner, and the ball boy rushed to get the ball and placed it on the corner arc ready to be kicked. Thought to myself at the time that the ball should be up the ball boys jumper with everyone looking for it.

has resisted writing a single post on the Ross McCormack thread !!!
