It's Jim Cannon's debut and we haven't won a London derby in our entire four years in Division 1. Then, Palace 2 Chelsea 1 (or was it 2-0? I can't remember, and I can't be arsed to look it up!) Was anyone else there that day? I can still see Big JIm's debut goal...scored right in front of me...clearly now as if it were yesterday. Does lightning strike in the same place twice? Let's hope so. Up the Palace. Edited by sydtheeagle (28 Mar 2014 5.10pm)

I thought you were redcarded yesterday Syd? Glad to see it's been rescinded! Was I? Definitely got a bollocking...arguably reasonably so. But red card would have been OTT as there was definitely humour involved.

This looks like the match. Brilliant - how different the ground looks yet still definitely Selhurst. 10 days before I was born ! Jim Cannon. Legend.
You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue |
