Think he's really growing into his role at RB, had his two best games for us at Sunderland and Newcastle IMO. With Ward doing well at LB I would like to see this partnership for the rest of the season, regardless of the fitness of Parr and Moxey, who try hard, but aren't up to it (again IMO). Thoughts? Parr and Moxey are not good enough, so not exactly many options for Pulis there

Totally agree. When he came into the team and was then dropped thought that was harsh. As with Danny being moved out for Dann who had probably his best game yesterday at Newcastle.

Actually I agree that they are not good enough. One game against United playing with a weakened side in a cup they are not overly fussed about does not make Parr a good player. Moxey has done well amnd also made some howlers in his time with us. Legend is far, far, far too strong a word to describe him. The arguments for over two years have been who is the best out of Moxey and Parr. The answer should honestly be that it does not matter as neither is good enough for an entire season in the top flight, alas. Mariappa has impressed me though. TP obviously sees him as a full back not centre back. This rather begs the question as to whether we will ever see Hunt play a game for us.

Mariappa was a bit shaky for the first period against Sunderland, but thought he and Dan were our MOTMs at Newcastle. He got forward quite a few times which he didn't manage at Sunderland. What I liked about him yesterday was his ability to easily slot in at CB after Dann had gone roving forward and got caught out of position. He looks very comfortable when this happens and I agree, sticking with the current back 4 is probably the way to go for now, irrespective of others' fitness.

I've always liked Mariappa, and think he has done as well as anyone in the defence...another good summer buy in my opinion

He was however, at fault for the goal, as he kept Cissè onside....

Marriappa was trying to cover for what Dann should have been doing. When your marking a player you do it with him in front of you so you can see him, not with the player behind you where you can't, Dann got caught napping which is a shame as he'd had a good game until then.
