I must say that I think Yannick is becoming a real threat to the opposition, very noticeable how commentators and pundits have seen this too...past few games he has been arguably one of best and most consistent players, and one that gives the opposition the most problems....yesterday, I watched the whole thing online and was very impressed with his shooting, which seemed so much more controlled, someone is clearly working with him...and his crossing is a bit better as well.

.....somehow think he may get a brace against Chelsea! (which would be very good timing and might get us a point)

You must be barking bad, he gets his first shot on target all season and he has become a major threat! Watch all this seasons games, add that to the stats of no goals and hardly an assist, then look at the league table and prepare yourself for more of yesterday.
The same goes for another midfielder, it's not unfair to ask for some form of achievement statistically, as you can't expect to stay up otherwise.
It is basically a credit to the general organisation of whoever has played in the back four that has kept us out of the bottom 3.
With the remaining fixtures, it is going to take more than that to stay up.
What Yala did yesterday has got to be the least you would expect from every midfielder at this level.
We keep saying all season that we are a little short of quality and clinicality but now the time has come where we must find it.
I know you might believe he can get two goals against Chelsea but with his stats over 20 games, where do you really think that is going to come from?

Bolasie did not have a pre season due to injury and when he started playing he was wrongly sent off and got a three game ban which made his season even more stop start and he was already on a learning curve by being in the prem for the first time. He has slowly settled into a rhythm and is now starting to be a threat when allowed across the halfway line. He has always been a poor shot, which he really does have to improve, but he is a good assist man. Although I think it's only one this year, we have only scored 19 goals and he has only been on the pitch for about 14 of those. The way we set up now makes it very unlikely that any of his stats will improve.

No goals from Jedi either. Has KG scored this season? No set piece goals from DD or Dann yet. No full back goals.

In defence of the defenders, although they are not scoring, they have done their main job which is defending.
The full back position s have changed more than any and to be fair to Joel Ward apart from Luncheon he's probably been our most attacking midfielder.
We all know where our major defiency is and the big call is do you believe KG and Bolasie can honestly get any better.
Talk about people missing pre season is now a distant memory.
We have eight games left and it's probably one of the toughest decisions of Pulis's time in Management.
I like Pulis a lot but I think he will stick with the same boys and I am not sure that I would.

He's getting better but a long way from the finished article.

He has to learn when to take on players and when to offload. He reminds me of Routledge who is only now fulfilling his potential.

Bolasie clearly has great tekkers, but is a work in progress still.

Our lack of goals from midfielders/wingers is alarming, when you think about it who has actually scored our goals?

who has scored our goals? Not Bollasie that's for sure and to think he may score 2 against Chelsea. Blimey!

The point I was making is that he seems to be finding his feet in the Premiership, and he is certainly playing better now than early season....he can't sustain the effort for 90mins at the moment, and frankly I would take 65mins of him being dangerous to the other side than 90mins of just effort.

My point about his shooting yesterday was that it had much more control about it...we know when he connects properly he has a good shot on him, but often has lacked composure and also too often shot across the line of direction...maybe he has started to achieve a level of composure.

He must surely score sometime and he can certainly get past players (even some of the best) and yes it was slightly tongue in cheek/hope about him scoring a brace against Chelsea....but someone has to, otherwise we are in for another brave defeat.

I'm with you (OK maybe not on the Chelsea goals but here's hoping!). I really noticed a difference in his delivery and shooting yesterday, it could have been a one-off but he seemed really concentrate and give it some thought before delivering the ball, which is definitely where he needs to improve. Would be nice to think that may be as a result of some serious effort from him and the coaches?

There's no doubt he is a great dribbler, and has shown he can put in a good ball, but it's consistency that would move him up into a higher bracket as a player. Hope he can do it!

I think Southampton prove the point.
I don't think they are overall a wonderful team and they certainly were not miles better than us in our latest encounter.
But all season when their Midfielders/Strikers get half a sniff of goal they take it.
Jay Rodriguez took his chance early on today at White Hart Lane but we all know if that had been KG, Yala or Jerome that is never ending up in the back of the net
They have let a 2 goal lead slip today whereas our defence are not likely to do that so it is frustrating that we have not (Murray excluded) found that type of player in the last two seasons.
Even though Ince has not played particularly well since his debut what he did prove is that if he gets that chance on goal he can put it away.
I think the only way to avoid brave defeats when Chamakh returns is to also play someone like Ince who is capable of hitting the back of the net.
We could steal a few draws between now and May 11 with KG, etc but it won't be enough as too many of the bottom teams play each other which means some form of guaranteed points for some of them.
I think its fair to say Villa is a must win and that we probably now need to win 2 from 3 of W Ham, Cardiff or Fulham.
Considering we have only two 1-0 away wins on our CV this season, its a big ask!
You have to play your majority goalscorer's so a fit again Chamakh and Puncheon must be definites.
My gut feeling if you need to get 3 wins is that you also have to play someone in front of Chamakh, which leaves you a whole host of midfield/wingers, to decide on which ones will be your impact players and find the back of the net for you.
