I can't see it mentioned on here yet so I just thought I'd spread the word that the club have announced today that the Villa game will kick off at 3:07pm. This will be after a minute silence at 3:06pm in recognition of those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough Disaster 25 years ago. Every game will be the same. Only a good thing of course and I'm sure they'll be plenty of coverage that week and a reminder at the ground on the actual day. However this may save someone the embarrassment from innocently shouting out, "Hurry the **** up!" at 3:00pm when the teams haven't left the tunnel!

Oh cancel that sorry, I've just seen the 'Let's all pander to Liverpool' thread and the guy getting (perhaps justifiably) quite a bit off stick, it's a much more interesting read!

What about the fans at Bradford they never get the same standing ovation as Liverpool fans do.

What about the fans at Bradford they never get the same standing ovation as Liverpool fans do. My father was born and grew up down Penge and Forest Hill, he moved up to West Yorkshire in 1977 for work and love (My Mum) hence why I was born and still live in Bradford.... While growing up I lived on a street called Longhouse Lane in Denholme, Bradford, I went to Denholme Primary School. 2 Doors up, and a couple years above me at school, were my childhood friends, Felix and Rupert Greenwood. I cannot remember much about their dad Peter, but remember their mum Hazel well. Where we lived in Denholme on that day, we could see the smoke from the fire at Valley Parade, over 7 miles away, it was sad for so many people. What was more saddening is that the 56 are never quite put in the same box as the 96, Lets remember all Football Fans across the world who, one day went to watch a football match, only to give that match their lives and never come home.. R.I.P
Remembering staffie for ever!, a gentleman and true great. unfortunately the HOL will never be the same without him. |

It is a sad time and worthy of rememberance. We should also bear in mind the fight of those people in Liverpool who fought for years to have the whole affair properly investigated. So we ought to call to mind the inadequacy of the authorities (in Bradford), and the callous ineptitude of the same in Sheffield. Before some say this is not the place or time for apportioning blame, let's just say the deaths of those who weren't spared will be partly wasted if a lesson is not learnt. Lesson over, but so sad.
