For the most obvious reason, which is he was a part of Palace's history. In the same way that supporters talk about past players and managers, whether great, good or not so, which is great. You don't have to be a (Sir) Steve Coppell, Andy Johnson, Jim Cannon, Johnny Byrne, Geoff Thomas, Nigel Martyn Peter Taylor (as Player) and so on. You can be one of the lesser names like Danny Butterfield, Dele Adebola, Henry Hughton, Mike Flanagan and so on. This will of course be repeated by all so supporters of all clubs. Over time Jordan's name will be mentioned less & less but will be talked about whether good or bad.

I like Jordan. Always will. He got it wrong in the end, but it wans't through a tight fisted lack of trying.

I like Jordan, put more into this club than all of us combined ten times over. He made mistakes and in the end it didn't come off for him, but can you often say he didn't truly have palace in his b est interest? In the modern era of chairmen, Simon Jordan is a lot better than a lot of them, take Tan for example
