Hey all long time reader but have never really posted and after reading all the negative posts i feel id balance things up with a positive outlook on things.

Looking at the table it looks like 18th place will finish on 35 so all we need is 36 to stay up lets call it 37 to be safe. just 10 points from our last 10 games, so lets say 9 points from Sunderland, Cardiff, A villa, W ham and fulham. We are more than capable of 9 points out of these games, sunderland and cardiff look the toughest but i feel we can at least pick 1 point up and that's at our worse, Villa at home we really should be looking at and will need 3 points, w ham will be tough but i think they will be pretty much safe by then and fulham are just terrible. If they aint relegated by the last game of the season then manager of the year has got to go to them.

That leaves 1 point from Everton, Newcastle, Chelsea, City and liverpool. if we cant get one point out of these 5 games then we deserve to go down. Chelsea we have no chance but you would fancy us to get a point out of Everton or Newcastle, One of these two games have got 0-0 written all over it, and then there is that shock win "we are due". Looking at Liverpool, are they still going to be in with a shot at the title come us, maybe but i doubt it. They will be guaranteed champions league football tho, so will probably have their end of season party already booked, so that fixture wont be as hard as it looks on paper.

I can see us getting more than 37 points but ideally would rather drop points to the big clubs and pick up points from our relegation rivals. looking at our fixtures we have no need to panic and our fixtures aint exactly the hardest when you look at what teams we play and when. being palace it will defiantly go down to the last game of the season but it will be someone else hoping fulham do them a favor rather than fulham doing themselves one and im more than confident that we will stay up.

Really?
We are not capable of much at all unless we re-think tactics. We need the midfield re-jinked so we have players who can actually hold and pass the ball and not just knock it back to the opposition.
At least give Bannen and Ince a chance so we can provide balls for Murray and Chamack to start scoring. This isn't coming from the likes of KG or Jedinak.
If we don't score soon our position will become terminal and there will be grounds for panic.

The only game left that I feel upbeat about is Villa at home. We must win this.

The rest of our fixtures are tough and unless we up our game significantly they could all be lost.

Everton, Newcastle away, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City at home? We cannot expect much from these games.

Sunderland, Cardiff, West Ham, Fulham away. All scrapping for points.

I can easily see us coming up short.

I'm hoping Pulis' record of not being relegated is a factor, but a slim hope!

Yesterday's result was a thump in the solar plexis, but after a day of reflection I agree Palace must not panic. It's a question of keeping nerve. We are never going to have it all our way and this result needs to be got over. With important players missing and a useful side re-aligned, the result isn't so surprising. But fight's the word, don't throw it in on the first poor result.

I wouldn't panic, ok we got beaten at home by Manchester Utd and Southampton (just in the case of the latter), and got a draw against Swansea Away.

We've not got a particually positive history against any of those clubs in recent years, and they are clubs that have only gotten better since then.

Realistically we'd have expected to lose to Man Utd, maybe draw with Swansea and Southampton. We've gone through a fairly tough run of games, and not move in the table - Thats good.

Saturday, away from home against Sunderland. Massive game, win that, and we're putting serious distance against their games in hand.

We was terrible on saturday but you've got to give southampton credit their one of the best footballing teams in the league and there's a massive difference in quality between them, sunderland and cardiff.
I agree id like to see bannan start, his the best player we've got on the ball but what would he of done against southampton when we had 20% possession, he would of been even more anonymous than ledley was.

The next 3 points are huge as it takes us to 30 points and thats a significant milestone. Obviously the sooner we get them the better.

A good performance and 1 or 3 points and everyones outlook will change. No reason at all why that cant happen on Saturday.

Hold your nerve everyone... a mans true character is shown in adversity after all. Lets try and save the complaining until the end of the season eh ?

1 point against Sunderland and/or Cardiff is not enough. We need to beat them both and will not do it by treating them as if they are Man City or Chelsea.

Where will the points come from?
Sunderland - 1
Cardiff - 1
Villa - 3
Fulham - 3

Cant see any more. That's 35 points. Likely come down to goal difference.

I like your thinking and I can see where your coming from. For me it will be a little tougher. I think your right that 37 points is enough.

I can't see us getting anything in the next 3 games. So that will be 10 from 7 games

City and Liverpool you have to expect 0 points. Leaving 10 from 5 games

Seeing Fulham is the last game and will likely be a must win and we do, that leaves 7 points from 4 games.

Everton away again 0 points, leaving 7 from 3 games

Villa we simply must win, leaving 4 points from Cardiff and West Ham which means winning an away game likely Crdiff.

As I have said before the first 3 games of april will decide our future. It is still a big challenge to stay up and to be honest I'm not sure which way it will go.
