Why were we so poor? I saw the Pulis interview after the game, and he seemed more than happy to take the blame, stating that they'd practiced and planned some new ideas, but none of them came off, so he changed the formation etc. at half time.

Does anyone know what the first half plans were?

I was simply horrified by how we sat back, way more than normal. I think we had 17% possession. It was just a matter of time before they scored, and it so easily could have more, if they were playing better football.

I was, of course, delighted with the half time changes, and when Bolasie's crosses started to improve, we looked a different team.

I think Pulis was intent for Palace to crowd out the goal area in the first half ,however, once we went a goal down he had to change his plans if we were to get a point. I suppose its possible to stand firm and soak up the pressure indefinitely but all things change if they score. Second half we ran them off their feet and I think they were fortunate to get a point.

Bolasie Murray Jerome and Dann were all excellent in the 2nd half we pressed higher and were more direct picking up all the 2nd balls.
I'd play this way a lot more.

he made comments about trying to hit them on the break and get players out wide but they (swansea) got to the ball first so we didn't get going.

Very admirable for him to shoulder the blame and change at half time but does it really take 45 minutes to realise that you've cocked up? surely after about 20-25 mins at least one out of the 11 players and manager would have had an inkling all was not well.??

Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan

If we hadn't of gone 1-0 down would there of been a second half change?

we seem to want to play for a one nil every game, bit like a boxing match , let the other team punch itself out and then go for them late on.

obviously this fails if we dont go in nil nil at half time.

Id like us to start playing with a creative midfielder again like Bannon. KG,Jedi and ledley are too alike. Ince is not overly impressive, certainly less effective than bolasie or puncheon. we need to give teams something to think about rather then just breaking us down.

i disagree.

I believe he went for it against spurs away and city away and in both first halves we were excellent and knackered ourselves out.

so the game plan against swansea was the opposite. Let them knacker themselves out in the first half, defence without killing yourselves and hit them hard in the 2nd.

and it worked.

he'll probably do the same again, against top sides.

At the end of the day, in the 1st half it wasn't working, Pulis changed things around at half-time, the 2nd half was a different story and we got a good point. So credit for the 2nd half response.

I think so because Pulis figured The Swans would be tiring after an hour.

Tactical. Get over it. We got a draw and nearly won the match.

We would have worked twice as hard as Swansea, chasing the ball for 45 mins,we were better second half because we played with intent and had Murray on the pitch,if he is fully fit he MUST start ahead of cham and cam, they are not good enough to hold up play and bring others into the game.

That's a funny thing to say but, perversly, this is the key to any success Palace are to get. If it had stayed 0-0 there would not have been a need to alter the system and TP will have got the draw he seems to play for. But when the plan was altered Palace should have won. Is there any chance TP will go for it from the off and maybe revert to plan A once the game needs closing down? You know, do it the other way round. Could surprise quite a few.
