I see some people including myself complaining about the sitting back and inviting pressure during the first half today, I think he fooled us, I think Tony Pulis didn't get the first half wrong, I actually think it was all part of his game plan. Sit back and defend and watch an already tired Swansea go from tired to absolutely knackered then launch a complete onslaught.
It almost paid off for 3 points but I am happy with the point.

I think its the great tactical knowledge of Mr Tony Pulis at its best.

The whole reason I wanted Tony Pulis as our manager is because I wanted a manager significantly clever'er tactically than most of the other managers in the PL not some foreign fella whose name sounds good but in reality isn't all that. Meulensteen and Aitor Karanka definitely come to mind.

Please!!!! Don't talk blox. TP has said he got the first half wrong.

I like him too, but don't make excuses for his failings.

If we didn't have Jules in goal it would have been more than 1-0 and game over.
So boring to watch aswell! lucky we got a the pen and a draw.

I'd like to think you were right but we had the post match interview with TP and he actually apologised for his first half tactics, going so far as to say it was all down to him. Apparently they's been practicing these tactics all week, but they didn't work out today.
Still, good on him for owning up to his mistake and
of course for putting it right in the second half.

I think he underestimated Swansea to begin with, thinking that their game of Thursday would have had more of an effect, and that we were to let them tire themselves out, the hit then later on.

He may not be glamorous or have a loa of silverware to his name, but he knows how to get us out of this. He made a mistake today, and luckily we got a rub of the green to come away with something. If there's one man you want in your corner in our situation, it's Tony Pulis!

Ah I see, never saw the post match talk so forgive me. I'm still glad we have him on board and think he is one of the best managers we have had in years, tactically definitely.

Absolute nonsense. I think TP is very tactically astute but as he himself admitted, the first half was all wrong. We were lucky not to have conceded more. If you play as deep and defensively as we did then you're going to concede eventually, and we weren't even a threat on the break. Swansea aren't Chelsea or Man City; the best way to make things difficult for them, as the second half showed, is to put them under pressure.

It's how you get back up that counts, really impressed with Pulis since his arrival. We look like we have a gameplan and are getting to be difficult to beat.

I think it goes beyond a simple admission. There have been countless times when I have seen managers during after match interviews claiming it wasn't good enough (Chris Houghton today), but I think he doesn't have a clue what happened and why? TP knew exactly and that is the sign of a clever manager admitting he got it wrong and he then knew how to do something about it.

Just watched MOTD2.....and Mr Pulis take a bow....

1) for admitting that YOU got your tactics wrong for the 1st half and needed to make the changes.....he actually stated that the lads looked down at half-time and had a word with em to explain that it wasnt their faults.....great man-management

2) for fining JT for that stupid fall over in the box trying to win a pen

In Pulis we trust.......
