No sarky comments....proper evaluation between the difference in the first and second half performances.

That we don't have to be so negative first half. Some of our play in that second period, granted against a tired Swansea side, was fantastic!

Fairly obviously not sit back on the edge of our own box. Unbelievable second half considering the first. Hats off to pulis making the changes needed in the second half!

For me there's a clear distinction between us as a team when we play in a positive fashion as opposed to starting with a negative mindset.

Even though i'd like us to change the formation a little at times by pushing one of the defensive midfielders forward, just by closing the ball down quicker and having someone like Muzza up front can make us such a different prospect to play against.

We've worried too much about other teams formations and abilities and by doing so forgotten whats got us into this position in the first place.

I think Pulis thought if we could contain them in the first half we could have a go in the second, as they would be tired after Europe.

Lucky to be only 1 down at half time as we were so defensive, but second half was like watching a different 11 players.

I have no idea what Pulis said to Bolasie at half time, but he was fantastic and a real threat for the whole 2nd half...

FFS will start every game now as he showed he is fit and has a strikers instinct that no other player in the squad has.

Only bad point was Thomas diving. No need for that, he should have leathered it first time, but showed a lack of self belief and deserved to get booked.

Great point, and a real confidence boost against a tough team.

Support brilliant again too !!

Pulis will not have been alone in thinking the best way to play today would be to defend and shut down in the first half then take the game to them in the second. He spoke the other day about how he expected Swansea to tire after the game on Thursday.

I'm sure he will get plenty of hate on here and the BBS tonight, but it looks like his gamble (if you can call it that) worked. If anything we ended up looking likely to win the game.

In general, I think we have to attack more against certain teams and defend more against others. Don't get why people have been ranting about how we should attack more since the Man United game. We opened up in that game's second half and conceded twice.

Watched the game online, seemed to me that in the second half we were bypassing the midfield from the back and then far more effective at picking up the second ball. Their pressing game in the first half meant we looked panicked on the ball and were very sloppy in possession. Actually think that Chamakh having to go off helped us because Jerome was far more effective. Shame we lacked a little bit of quality in the final 3rd, although Bolassie massively improved his final ball throughout the second half.

I'd have taken a point before the game, and hopefully ffs scoring will give him a massive boost. Great to see him celebrating again. Happy Eagle here !

I've learnt that I really don't want Pulis football next season.
I said that if we wanted to stay up then Pulis was the only man with a realistic chance of doing it, but I knew it would be awful to watch. I didn't want him though because I knew if he was successful then we would be stuck with him for the foreseeable future. It's a double edged sword because I don't want to go down, but I don't want to watch 19th Century football.

That we need to impose our game on the opposition more and make them defend more. First half we sat too deep let Swansea play their slick passing game, and we made them look like Barcelona. Making it more scrappy and physical with us competing for and winning a lot 50/50's and flick ons is what we are good at.

Letting teams have 80% possession in the 1st half knackers them out so we can play football in the 2nd....

Do you not think though that (should) we stay up that he'll look for that 'quality' we've been missing?

Personally I don't think we'll play like his Stoke side did, but he's having to get the best out of a squad that other than recently he didn't have a choice as to who would be in it.

In doing so he's done pretty much all that could be done with them by getting them organised as a unit...and to be fair he's done that very very well to date.

We need to push the midfield up to take a higher line and push sides further back - giving them 70 yards of space and trying to crowd them out when they get near our box will only go so far - we will (and do) concede and end up trying to break and counter from the edge of our 18 yard box - we aren't good enough for that at this level
