Frankly I preferred it when everybody said we were going down.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Sit back and relax guys - this authoritative study of less than 500 words by a sports journalism student will dispel all your doubts.

Gave up reading the Metro in the morning on the train when I could barely ever see a word about Palace in print. I have suggested before that for once our stability could keep us up. Fulham, Cardiff & W Brom do seem in meltdown, and a Norwich fan I know thinks Hughton was spared the chop at Norwich only by their win over Spurs. Desperately rooting for Sunderland in the League cup final...may they follow in the footsteps of Birmingham and Wigan in taking a nice, new trophy down to the Championship!

I think Norwich are in huge trouble. Their last 5 games are all against top teams where they'll have little chance of picking up any points which means now they need to be safe and they really aren't. Cardiff and Fulham will both go down in my opinion, too many bad managerial decisions. I think Sunderland will be fine to be honest, they play well in the Cup so come there last 3 or 4 games they'll play them like Cup finals and probably scrape survival. West Brom look in real trouble, Pep Mel doesn't seem good enough to keep them up and they have trouble up front in my opinion. Swansea will be fine as will Villa, both good sides. West Ham and Hull are both safe in my eyes, they'll get to 39+ points.

Sunderland. ..............."despite starting well"....... says it all really.
Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link] |

Hopefully his prediction is more accurate than his use of the english language. A couple of minor annoyances with these types of articles: Why would you quote yourself in your own article? Why do journalists always use spade loads of hyphens and conjunctions? "Four wins in a row has seen them catapulted to 11th, but still not out of safety." That's what we're all hoping for, to be out of safety. I hate being safe, it's so bourgeois. Poor lad, he's only a student and already I'm predicting that he'll be relegated to mopping up p*ss in McDonalds.

It is out of us, Fulham, Cardiff and WBA for 3 places I think West Brom and Sunderland are both in it too. There's always one team too good to go down that's in the mix; It's West Brom this year; Mel does not seem to be making an impact. I think if they survive and he can impose his style of play on the team over the summer (and bring in the players needed to play it) then Mel may in the long run turn out to be a good appointment but he is not the man for a relegation battle with a tactical approach not suited to the group he has. As a result, they are at risk. With that said, I think they will just sruvive. I have always felt Sunderland were in the mix. Their bounce (and I hope the same is not true of us) came in mid-season; I fear they will now run out of steam, particularly if they experience a sapping Cup Final loss today and another possible Cup game loss next week. They are not as good as some give them credit for and I think they may yet be the third team to go down. Norwich, too, are in the mix. As others have said, they will get nothing from their last 5 games (or very little) which means they really need three wins from their next five, including today. Cardiff, for me, are down and Fulham probably are too. For me then, Cardiff and Fulham down. Very tight between Palace, West Brom, Sunderland, and Norwich for the third place. If I had to bet, Sunderland.

Funny how league positions influence our view.Everyone from 10'th down are in the mix.Istill think Villa could tumble, poor home form is not what you need to stay up.W.Brom,Cardiff and Fulham must be fav's due to instability, but there is normally a twist.
