United fan here, after all the nonsense yesterday with the coin throwing and what have you, David Moyes response to that was something along the lines of 'I bet those same supporters that threw stuff at Rooney will be cheering him on in the world cup'.

And I am interested to find out if he is actually right or not?

There are bound to be a few of you on these forums who despise Wayne Rooney based on all the anger and hatred on display yesterday, so if you are an English Palace fan, and Rooney was to score the winner in the World Cup final...would you cheer?

Very few people chucked anything at Rooney, lets not get it out of proportion and I would hate the fact that anyone did to detract from the fact that Moan U struggled to beat us.

What happens in a club match has nothing to do with what happens internationally. Should Rooney finally put in a proper shift and play well for England, he will get applauded. However should he be s*** again and then slag off the fans who spent a fortune going to see him play then he will get yet more abuse. It's not difficult to understand, even a Moan U fan must be able to understand it.

Good luck with your struggle for Europa League football next season and I hope the fact that two of the local stations were closed didn't delay your return to Kent or Surrey,

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Bit like the old 'Firms'.

ICF, Treatman, Shed Boys (Headhunters) etc use to go all out on each other for their clubs. Internationally they use to get together.

How this Football malarkey works.

Rooney's goal was well taken.
He's a class act on his day.
Will cheer any goal by him(For England)and any other Utd player
Hopefully there will be a good few at the WC. in summer.

Rooney won't score the winner in the world cup final. England will be lucky to get through the group.

top cat- thanks for your wishes of good luck for getting in to Europa, but believe it or not there are more than a few of us United fans that would welcome us avoiding that competition tbh.

And for the record, I come from , was born in and reside in..........Manchester!

Who'd have thought ???

It's eleven men vs eleven men, just so happens on the day ours were much better and left your place with a comfortable victory and never needed to get out of second gear.

Any way, I hope you stay up. I don't really mind Palace.

Love and kisses x

And so they should be given the difference in cost of the two squads.

I was in South Africa 2010 and went away with the same feeling as most of the English fans around me - that Rooney is an arrogant selfish tw@t who isn't up to it on the world stage. In fact, even before the Germany game, there was a lot of talk in the pubs along the lines of "will they have the guts to drop the useless ugly c**t?"

Would I cheer if he scored a World Cup winner? Yes. But, of course, he won't because he can't be @rsed to put a shift in when he's not getting stupid money for it

In a word yes. Silly nonsense really. Probably the best player on the pitch by a mile.
