Why cant we score from headers?

On paper we have a team that is great in the air, but nothing is going on target. It wouldnt be so bad, but even players that scored all the time from corners and crosses last year are missing. If we scored just a small percentage of our headers, we would be in single figure positions in the league, we now look completely dosile from corners and free kicks. Am i wrong on this? Im sure we used to get quite a few last year...

How many have we scored directly from corners this season? The last one I can think of is the Sunderland game and even that hit a few players before going into the net in the scramble.

I think Ward should be in the box and not taking them personally as he is good in the air, and his deliveries aren't as good as Puncheon's. I guess Pulis wants inswinging corners from both sides, but Ward is such a presence it seems a waste to have him on corners

IIRC both Stoke and Wet Sham have the tallest teams in The Prem and between them they have scored a grand total of..................1 goal!!! And the amount of goals from corners is something like 5%! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

up untill a couple of weeks ago, Millwall were the only team in the football league NOT to have scored with a header....

I really can't get my head round Ward taking corners from the left hand side, when we have Bolasie who whipped them in brilliantly last year.

Bannan puts in a nice corner as well, put him in the middle with Jedi and put ward back where he belongs.

Completely agree with this thread, we have missed so many headed chances in the box. Delaney and Jedinak being the main two culprits most games. Edited by Wilson21 (30 Jan 2014 10.59am)
