I don't agree. Most referees would of given Long falling down in the box as a penalty. Replays showed he was looking for it and hooked his leg up to make contact with Gabbidon.
All in all, good refereeing all round. Better then that idiot against Wigan by all accounts.

Could've easily given Hull a pen which would've most likely seen them get something out the game. Seemed a bit hasty with yellows for us but I didn't think he was that bad really. From a TV view.

In a word shocking.discuss Shocking IS the word. Hull were filthy and they cheated. Both strikers should have had a yellow for diving. The keeper should have been booked if Jerome was. He missed so many fouls by them and consistently gave strange decisions against us. He was utter pony.

Some strange decisions and looked like he was a bit nervous.

Agreed. The Long penalty scenario was a brilliant judgement and will earn him points on the referee panel. Delaney and O'Keefe deserved yellows and it was totally justified to send Mcgregor off. Yeah, he'd been harrassed a couple of times but his reactions were totally over the top.

Got the big one correct, at this level it's really all that matters. So, good game.

Ref was s***e for both sides. Missed some very bad challenges throughout the game. Whilst Hull were dirty our players held there own. Worst ref I have seen since Saturdays ref.

They were going nuts at the ref on Palace Player commentary! Still, seems like we got the big decisions (no pen & red card), they got all the little ones. So we came out on top!

Just shows the benefit of slow motion replays! I watched it on a streamed link and he got just about everything spot on. There were obviously occasions which were a matter of judgement but he didn't have a good game. He had a great game. The only real dispute I would have would be that Long should have been booked for simulation. Having just read the report on this site, which seems to think that Hull should have been given a penalty I can assure you it was not. In real time, and at first, the commentators were convinced it was. In slow motion, and from a variety of angles, it was crystal clear that Long angled his legs into Gabbidon, who did not even attempt to tackle him.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
