Hi all,

HOL Radio blogger, freelance writer and, this week, HOL Radio debutante Richard Foster takes another unique look at an upcoming match - this time it's the massive game against Hull tomorrow night:

1. YET ANOTHER PIVOTAL MATCH

If Stoke at home was a must win game then this one should be classified as a ‘must must win’. Indeed for all future Palace previews I am only going to point out the non-pivotal games, as they will stand out for their rarity. Anyhow Hull at home means another three points up for grabs against one of our fellow bottom half dwellers. So now we have rid ourselves of that FA Cup nonsense it is time to get serious and plot our path to survival. By beating those around us we may gather sufficient points to avoid the dreaded drop.

Scoring more goals than them tomorrow night should be top of that list.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I don't really understand how this is a 'Five things Palace need to do Tame the Tigers'. I'll go through each 'point' made:

1)It's a must-win...

2)I think the point is that we should believe that we'll win...

3)Hull's owner Allam is re-branding them as Hull Tigers and doesn't understand fans...

4)We were also re-branded by Malcolm Allison...

5)We hope that Puncheon scores and that Jedi or Ward score because of their outstanding performances this season...

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how the article is 5 things Palace need to do to beat Hull. There is no mention of nullifying Jelavic, using Bolasie, or fans as ever getting behind the team. This is just a lazy article from someone who might as well have written this nonsense that everyone knows anyway in a couple of lines.

4)We were also re-branded by Malcolm Allison...

The article states that we accepted the idea but I'm not sure that was the case but as it was before the days of the internet, social media, mobile phones etc we couldn't really make our feelings heard.

He also had this not so brilliant idea of having nicknames on the backs of the shirts instead of names so the team took to the field as Stroller, Spider, Road Runner and even Doris

So quite aside from the fact that our own Glaziers to Eagles (etc) rebranding is wholly irrelevant as to how we'll beat Hull, the points made about acceptance of it aren't even correct!

No-one really wanted to change the nickname but in those days you just grumbled for a bit then got on with it

The BBS also pointed out the headline to be misleading! Really it just refers to the 5 headings - but it doesn't change the article content.

The article is a preview of the Hull match from a different perspective as to what I would call "standard" previews. I enjoyed it - either you do or you don't I guess, but probably best not to get too hung up on the Title!

(I am not the author, and as such will not be changing the title)

I think if we can control the midfield we stand a better chance of beating quite a few teams. I just hope Pulis has lectured the lads after The Cup defeat where we lost it in midfield.
