We will only grow as a club and keep ourselves competitive by increasing our revenue. Txfrs are always a gamble, we could be relegated whether we spend or not. Building up the ground is not however, especially if it uses money earned by promotion, therefore reducing the need for loans. If TP has the hump as his desire to buy players over 30 on high wages doesn't fit with SPs long term plans then he can go.

Not a patch on the revenue generated by being in the PL. We will only grow as a club by being in the PL and then developing the stadium.

It's a very good point obviously, I just think long term it will serve us so much better having a bigger and better ground. More sponsorship, more fans who will come back if it's a nicer experience (I don't care about plastics and all that stuff, the more the merrier) and more organically generated revenue.

One word, Wolves! Indeed, though as I understand it they signed a lot of players on massive wages that contributed to their troubles, exactly what I'm saying we shouldnt do.

I think I'm just drawn to the IM approach on txfrs and trying to find a low budget gem in Europe in the vein hope he'll become the next Xavi! I'm a huge fan of what TP is able to do his teams however and it's been miraculous what he's done with us.

Shiny new seats are all well and good. But when there's only 8000 people shivering on them on a freezing cold tuesday night at home to Doncaster, they lose their appeal.

We haven't sold many games out this season. Do not think that redeveloping Selhurst will bring in more fans. being in the Premier League brings in around 8000-10,000 fans each game. We go down, they will disappear. Believe we need to move from Selhurst and build a new stadium. Staying in the Premier League is vital to funding a stadium.

like it or not selhurst p has at least two stands substandard in 2014 - attendances depend on a number of factors not just success on the pitch and one of them will be the comfort and facilities esp for the new generations of fans that palace need - the ones that wont compare with the 1970s but with the stadia of other clubs

I don't think the money is a "one or the other" decision. If Palace gets relegated, the improvements will not be as high priority, even if we get a waterfall in the corridor of the Arthur every time there's rain, because less people will be sitting in the Arthur week in and out. There will also be less demand for seats, as like bubble wrap said, fringe fans will start to disappear because for whatever reasons, Ipswitch and Wednesday are simply not as exciting for some fans as having Man City pay a visit.
