Pulis is doing his stuff and IMO it aint pretty and is what many of us anticipated when he was appointed.
At half time I observed Barry B and Jonny W passing the ball to each other going through the motions with Dwight Gayle standing there looking somewhat dejected...It does sadden me cos I feel these are probably out 3 most creative and exciting players other than yannick, who due to their physical stature probably dont have much of a future at Selhurst.I sincerely hope I'm wrong but i ask myself do I really want to watch this week in week out just to stay in the premiership? Last season was some of the most attractive and enjoyable stuff we've seen at Selhurst for years.Yes its nice to see us out of the bottom three, albeit temporarily but im not sure this is bearable indefinitely.

Yeah, let's bring back Freedman, or even Ollie and get back to the great stuff we were playing last year ....

The best football we played last season was direct, to the wingers who then provided for Murray. Zaha, Bolasie and Murray aren't small, and we didn't have any short players in the side.

The 'passing football' we played was usually just knocking it around the back, before making a mistake which led to a goal. Which is why Holloway had to go.

Williams will get his chance. Not so sure about Bannan and Gayle, but in Pulis I trust

Quite simply we have to do whatever the manager deems necessary to stay up. Next season would then be a different scenario. Don't forget we haven't stayed longer than one season in th Premier. As much as I like BB and JW there is obviously a good reason ad to why TP is not playing them.

With regards to last season I have to disagree, since probably January our football was awful with of course the best being the return play off game and Final. The first half under Freedman (post Preston) was when the good, at times great football was played culminating in November, when we went top.

I would accept/put up with a somewhat less adventurous style for the rest of this season in exchange for safety which would then give us great confidence for next season and make us a far more attractive club for quality players.

Bring back Brolin

People do love to glamourise the past with rose tinted specs.

We played for the first 17 or so games some very attractive but highly direct wingplay football which was very similar to what we are playing now except we dont have a star like Zaha or a goalscorer like Murray to finish it off.

The remainder of the season we tried to play passing football and all we actually did was shuffle the ball around our defenders and nearly fall out of the playoffs.

Thats what actually happened if you take those specs off.

TP knew the opposition today better than most....and picked the team accordingly. BB and JW will be used when the time is right.

Agree with. Dynamic dick.... Good post..... Let's just grind it out, achieve safety if we can, then it's a clean slate for 14/15 season......
It is frustrating watching our guys give the ball away so often... Our lack of cutting edge in the final third is obviously a make or break for us.... At times we look okay and we do string some good sequences of play together.... But ohh to have a decent goal scorer...

Red & Blue since ' 76.. And what a fine year that was and has been ever since... !

pretty much agree with the majority here - let's grind out survival and then move on.

let's be honest, for the past 10 years, have we been known for fast flowing, smooth football?

You think our football is unattractive? Did you see the first half against Spurs, the way we took Norwich to pieces at times, our performance against Chelsea, our battle at Villa or the stoic defending against Manchester City?

At the moment i honestly do not care who TP drops, sells or signs up. He has changed the whole mentality of the football club in less than three months. There is not a team in this league who are happy to play us now - three months ago we were a guaranteed three points.

This is the first manager I have had real confidence in for many, many years. Added to that we have played some of our best football in the top flight since the days of Sir Steve.

Exactly this. We can afford to put on a performance in the cup, but our bread and butter is staying in the PL.

Review the first half against Spurs, it was one of the best displays in recent memory.

In Pulis we trust.
