Like or hate the premiership?

Been a few games now. Appreciate not a great start, but interested to know how you all feeling about being in the premiership. Does it live up to expectations? More exciting? Less exciting?

Live up to our expectations? We've been here so knew what to expect. Other than the Swansea game we've done alright and should have more to show for it. Williams was the only academy product I realistically expected to be getting game time this season. We are lacking defenders. Uninjured ones that is.

Keep the core that rich coming from a fan who's club wbo cleary bough their recent success. Re prem I'd have been happy to start the season with the squad that got us promotion.

I'll answer that question after I have been to Southampton. 3 points from 6 games ( probably 7 because we aren't going to win at Anfield) would not be an enjoyable start and things at the club could become very sour. We must get at least a point this weekend.

There are a lot of things I don't like about the Premiership. Last season I thought the Championship was genuinely more exciting than the Premiership. Obviously Palace being in the mix and not doing things the easy way made it all the more exciting for me, but I think it's probably fair to say it was also exciting because of just how close run things were. Look at Bolton last season for example, close to the end they were still in the mix for relegation but still ended up a whisker away from the playoffs and that's because so there were so few points between the top and bottom clubs. However, I am of the opinion that most people always want their club to be in the top league and to be making genuine forward progress. Regardless of whether we stay up or go down this year, I think the foundation the board are trying to lay down with the promotion we scraped, will pave the way for a stronger future for CPFC and if they do it right we could become an established bottom half of the Premier League team with a better ground and training facilities. So for all of the negatives of the Premiership, I am still glad we went up.

Actually our success came from a core of players (Terry, Lampard, Cole, Cech and Drogba). You miss the point. I never said the core had to be 'home grown'. I just was making the point that the teams that tend to stay up keep their core e,g, Stoke, Swansea.

im glad we went up for the sake of "the club" but personally i dont like the premierhsip...and will be happier if we are in the champo next season again.

Love the money but it's all a bit soul destroying tbh. 15 new players, strange kick off times, knowing it's not even half a level playing field unlike The Championship, the inevitable slagging off on MotM, the frustration which we will all feel with being in the bottom 6 all season, the gulf in class, the cynicism, etc It's a fvcking horrible league.

I love it to be honest. We wouldn't have stood a chance in the championship this season. If Bolton r finding it tough and we could hardly convince the best players to come in and we r a prem team would have been 10 times harder if we were in a lesser league with lesser players. We need to survive a couple of years and our academy will start to show through. Gates r up, shirt sales r up....Enjoy this because we all no that being a palace fan we have some dark DARK days to come!
