Over the next 50 days, I will be doing a countdown of the top 50 goals in our 108 year history. The list which has been compiled will no doubt have some inclusions and omissions that you disagree with, but unfortunately, that's the nature of the beast whenever lists such as this are put together. Hopefully you enjoy the countdown, and take some pleasure in reliving some of the greatest moments of years gone by. Any comments or memories of any of the goals featured are more than welcome. Thanks. Some goals have made it into the countdown thanks to outrageous pieces of individual skill, whilst others have earned their place thanks to their importance. It’s fair to say that this effort from Neil Danns ticked both of those boxes… Edited by CPFCDAN (15 Jun 2013 10.34am)

There is a write-up of the goal on the link attached to the post. It's at the bottom on the left hand side.

the little fella who scored the 35 yarder against Leicester a few years ago. Dave Swindlehurst against Ipswich in '79. Chris Armstrong against Wolves where the ball stayed in the stantion. Ambrose against Man Utd and Freedman against Brighton away 05/06
I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think. |

Today’s entry comes from March 1973, on the day that we entertained Chelsea at Selhurst Park. Malcolm Allison had recently arrived in SE25, and decided to throw a certain young defender in at the deep end… Any comments or memories you have about the goal are always greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Whilst both of the previous entries have featured for their symbolic importance, this strike has made the grade through quality alone. Bradley Russell takes a look at Glenn Murray‘s stunning hit at home to Middlesbrough… Any comments are always much appreciated. Thanks.
