Thanks. I have family who are Everton fans so this is one of the games I will be most exited about.

Good luck for next season.

A little apprehensive as expected, but excited at the same time I guess. Managing Everton is a little different than what he has dealt with in the past, but he'll get the full support of the fans, and the board, so he is in good hands.

Cheers mate. I remember parking at Goodison & drinking in an Everton pub (The Winslow I think) before we played Liverpool in the League Cup semi-final 2nd leg in 2001. All the Blues in the pub were cheering for us and even though we lost 5-0 on the night and 6-2 on aggregate, it was nice to feel some scouse lurve for a change!

How will your boys do with Moyes gone and Martinez in charge do you think?

EDIT: See you've answered my question already!

I think he'll do well, your club did the right thing in choosing him over Gus Poyet. Thanks for keeping Gus out of work guys.

I think if he can get the squad in's and out's done early, he should get off to a good start, as we're a very good side, and the players are extremely professional.

Our pre-season is exciting too, as we take on the likes of Juventus, Chelsea, Real Madrid and so on, so what a great opportunity for him.

League wise, every new manager needs a good start, so fingers crossed. He seems a likeable guy.

Cheers. I've not been to Goodison since the 70s. I'm told it's still a 'proper' football ground so I'm looking forward to coming back with my son.

Sorry to be a pedant but we were in the championship then. Why would we have been playing Everton?

He said he was in an Everton pub before playing Liverpool in the cup. Re-read the post
