Saw one today.

He's the most one-eyed, most passionate, most ridiculously biased football fan you can imagine. I've had a few chats with him about football over the years, and his sheer hatred for Palace comes through loud and clear every time.

He works for a supplier, so he needs to be a bit controlled with me, as I am effectively his client. I was surprised to see he'd booked to meet a colleague today and was sure it was just so he could come and give me some earache whilst he was in. He was at the game yesterday.

Well, I've never seen him so contrite, mellow and quiet. He looked like a broken man today. He blathered on about being used to his team letting him down and then said he was "so over it already". He clearly wasn't and his loathing of me and Palace was simmering under the surface. I didn't really say much other than smile - I could see he was already suffering enough.

I just feel so relieved we won. Him and all the others would have been intolerable otherwise. Even if we lose the final, I am content with my season!
