This thread is for those memories that stick in your memory, might be recent or many years ago (like mine), not talking about the liverpool semi, or play off final, but purely random snippets.
How about Cliff Jackson "scoring" many years ago, the ball hit the back off the net and somehow got under it, and rolled along by the advertisment boards, think we were 2-1 up at the time, ref gave goal kick, even though it should have been given as a goal, all the protests were waved away. (we always get sh*t refs)

Another was again way back, a player called John Craven hit a fantastic volley into the net, it was waist high, ball in from the wing, and it could not have been hit any sweeter, but the ref gave it offside! but the applause rang round the ground for the strike.

Another game from a few years back was against Newcastle, either prem, or the old first division, Palace had battled their hearts out, fought for every ball, it was 0-0 a which would have been a great result had it stayed that way, but with just a few minutes to go Peter Beardsley hit a screamer past martyn, i was absolutely gutted, and felt i had been stabbed in the heart, i was choked.

These are just 3 that i will never forget, just stuck in the palace memory bank. What are your random memories?

I remember that John Craven 'goal'. One of the best goals never to have been given at Selhurst Park.

One of my all-time favourite Palace games was the 4-1 win over Ipswich in September 1979, which took us top of the old Div 1 for the first time in our history.

Among the goals was a rare gem from Jim Cannon who started the move with a clearance from a corner, and via Vince Hilaire and Mike Flanagan, raced down the other end to slot the ball home. The Team of the 80's, what might have been if they'd stayed together?

The crowd is outstanding, and especially with the penalty after 44 minutes it was clear when we came out after half-time the welcome would be pretty loud and not too friendly. Crystal Palace wanted to strike back, so that was all clear. This is a wonderful place to play football - Jurgen Klopp

Chris Coleman scoring a very slow goal V Chelsea in the coca cola cup (if i remember rightly), the ball sliding in the mud and just over the line.
I always remember him turning to the away fans and shouting "f*** off!!!!"

Palace V Forest in the cup early 90's Geoff Thomas flattening Pearce with a slight shoulder barge. Can't remember if it ws the same tie but Salako scoring an unbelivable lob from the hlaf way line

2nd leg of the play offs, home to charlton.
Ray Houghton scores down the Holmsdale end, with a terrific shot from edge of the box.
place goes nuts.

Hinshelwood scoring with a thunderbolt against Liverpool, old first div.with Keegan running through to equalize while still celebrating.
Mate was mugged by scousers that night, kicked his head in,nicked his coat & robbed him-no change there then.

palace scoring four at Filbert st & still only managing to cling on for a draw,in the days of pennyfather & georgie woods.

Swindle, hammering the ball, with his head, into the net at Old trafford.

Not quite "slot the ball home". It was a volley from the edge of the penalty area.

Outside the ground for the game that got us into the old Div 1 the place was packed and a copper called out don't worry lads everyone is getting in tonight [ before the H&S nuts got involved ]
Don Rogers beating three players down the wing and having a shot at goal through the players legs which the goalkeeper just got his fingertip to to make a great save

I remember in the 95/96 season when we were starting to make our rise up the table and challenge for automatic promotion. It was a home game vs pompey, it was 0-0 and me, my dad and my brother were sitting in holmesdale lower, block c. The game had entered the 97th minute! my dad said we should walk more toward the back to make a quick exit when the whistle went. In this time we had a corner, it was floated in, cleared and andy roberts hit a stunning first time volley that flew past alan knight and into the roof of the net, we all went ballistic, but then realised the ref had blown for full time as the ball hit the net! Daylight robbery, we were all gutted! Seems we were gettin s*** refs back then too!

"Simon Rodger floats it in, and It's cleared by Tiler again......David Hopkin, looking to curl one!!!!!!!!! "

Mid 80s Andy gray scoring with an over head kick, down the white horse end, I was standing right behind the goal, it was only a few yards out, but I thought it was brilliant. It was against man city, and they had a black keeper called Alex Williams..

trevor aylott getting a diving header, to beat high flying oxford 1.0 was under the flood lights on a midweek night.

Early 1970's John Sewell 'lobbing' Leeds keeper Gary Sprake at the Holmesdale end - Sprake claimed the sun blinded him!

Best of all Villa Park 1990 FA Cup semi final - Gillespie goes off at half time with the scousers 1 up and you realise that they've got no height left in their team and boy did Palace exploit it! Also remember being clapped out of the ground by Villa fans glad that the underdogs had won.

Us winning 1 - 2 up at anfield Thomas and Marco G with the goals.

Leaning out of the car and hearing a palace fan,in the car in front, ask a passing scouser what the score was. When the scouser replied a cheer went up from the palace fans in the car and the bloke asking the question burst out laughing and hurling some abuse his way !!!

Possibly against Southampton season 72/73 - we played them twice in a short space of time in the league and cup and won both and I think it was one of those games.
