Burridge, Hinshelwood, Sansom, Nicholas, Cannon, Gilbert, Murphy, Kember, Swindlehurst, Hilaire, Walsh. 2-0 V Burnley and over 51000 inside San Selhurst. What a team. What a night!
I managed to squeeze into the ground with my late Mum and Dad, younger Brother and wife to be to witness a memorable night.
It WILL happen again, sometime! Keep the faith.

I was there, what a fantastic night. I've always maintained that although the official crowd was 52,000 ish, there was more like 60,000 in Selhurst that night, as I witnessed the turnstyle operators letting two people in for the price of one and a half. They must have pocketed a mint. (Good luck to them).

Also if I remember rightly I was also pictured in the match programme that day with the Palace Guard under 16's footy team.

I was there too. An amazing night.

Not to blow my own trumpet but 26 years ago today i actually scored at Selhurst Park. My Sunday League Under 12's team played in an invitation cup game against Croydon Road i think, after Palace had just lost their last game of the season 2-0 against Grimsby.

As you can imagine this was a dream come true for me, and with a minute of the first half remaining my moment came. Attacking the Holmesdale End, someone sprayed a bouncing ball out wide to the right edge of the penalty area. I ran onto it and saw the rather large opposition goalie racing out to clatter me, and just lobbed him and waited for the impact of his body on my leg - but it never came. The next thing i remember was watching this ball loop under the bar and into the net. I went f**king beserk!

Ran over to the old stand where my parents and brother were sitting and just stood there taking in the cheers and my Roy of the Rovers moment. To cap it all, at the finish we were given our medals by none other than Sir Steve Coppell.

I never really did much during my dad's time here to make him proud of me, but i like to think that he was that evening.

I was 14. I celebrated with a big bottle of fizzy pop at the end and drank it all the way home along Green lane. Innocent times.

not in my lifetime, sadly - but it was indeed one of the greatest nights in our history. Burnley held out for so long but we kept on going and got the goals & victory we deserved. Got home about midnight. Happy, happy day

I was there that night, the massive crowds meant that I missed the last bus from crystal palace to Woolwich and I had to walk home. Even aged 13 I knew I'd never forget that night!
Tonight I am celebrating too with a new job in the offing.

I have and always will prosper in the summer.

Palace scoring , Holmesdale end and sunshine is my recipe for contentment.
