Quote 51% of our country decided to retain Bush Actually it is now 52%. Quote I'm tired of having all the Christians shove their agenda down MY throat. Christians are only trying to protect themselves from being silenced and eliminated. The liberals would like nothing better than to see Christianity eliminated. The only problem is that liberals are in the minority. Quote I'm all for a strong defence but why take our eye off Bin Laden and get stuck in Iraq? I see you are well versed with the John Kerry talking points. Nobody has taken his eye off of bin Laden. Especially in our country; I'll bet Spain would have liked to receive videotape instead of a bomb. Quote Why can't we send in our first string (our Armed forces) Why do we have to send in the flip'n national guard? Perhaps all the cuts in the defense department in the 90's from Clinton and John Kerry. Maybe if the liberals didn't delete all of those divisions we would not be in the process of having to rebuild. Besides, I know an awful lot of Guards-men and they are great soldiers. They are well equipped and trained for the specific jobs they are doing. For you to say flip'n guard is disrespectful and detestable. Quote Why are we spending all this money on this bull s*** when our economy is A f***ing dire mess. Because we lost 3000 lives on Sept. 11. Our economy is in great shape. It is having record growth. Over 337,000 more jobs were created in October alone. Quote And tell me since you know what's good for me, why is occuping Iraq worth our resources that could be going to...I don't know....Education, our envirement and NOT PISSING OFF THE REST OF THE F'N PLANET!!! We liberated Iraq. We are there killing the terrorists instead of fighting the battle on our soil. The terrorists are on their last gasp in Iraq. We are taking them out. This is step two in the war on terror. You say better spent on Education? I wonder if the Education bill that President Bush signed, that was co-written by none other than the Northeastern liberal himself Old Teddy Kennedy. You know, the one that was the largest in history.

My point on Bin Laden is simple. We didn't get him. All the money and technology and we can't get this guy. That objective has not been met and I feel that Iraq is a smokescreen. I have no disrespect for the National Guard but the National Guard that I know are as fed up with our occupation of Iraq as the 48% of us. Do you really believe Iraq will stand on it's own with a democratic form of government and as a western ally? I won't even mention WMD's, that's been done to death... We are fighting a holy war there were the only gain is for the private sector. Our Economy is in great shape? You are having a laugh. Unemployment was up too in October. Maybe Iowa is faring better then the rest of the nation... Let's use our Budget on National Defence and not OFFENCE.

Quote We didn't get him. Are you absolutely positive that he isn't buried under Tora Bora? Videotapes can be made quite easily with the use of modern digital technology. Quote That objective has not been met and I feel that Iraq is a smokescreen. To what? Freedom? The elimination of rape rooms? The elimination of torture chambers? The elimination of chipper shredders to shove people in just to hear them scream? Or, maybe this war is a smokescreen to hide the tens of thousands of people murdered and shoved into mass graves? Maybe Salmon Pak never existed? Maybe women becoming part of society in the public is something that should be stopped? Or the possibility of Iraqis voting is just a smoke screen? Quote I have no disrespect for the National Guard but the National Guard that I know are as fed up with our occupation of Iraq as the 48% of us. I don't know any. In fact I have relation and friends in Iraq and they paint a different picture than you do. I guess they are liars just like Bush right? Quote Do you really believe Iraq will stand on it's own with a democratic form of government Funny,.....that's what they said about the United States. Quote We are fighting a holy war there were the only gain is for the private sector. Oh really? Freedom for millions of Iraqis is not a gain? Or do you mean they are the private sector? Quote Our Economy is in great shape? The labor force is 147.9 million strong, a record high. Liberal bromides about employment in America—that net jobs have been lost, that workers are discouraged, that outsourcing is a serious threat, and that new jobs are low-quality—have all been exposed as myths. The economic context for making policy in a second Bush term as evidenced by today’s report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is a very healthy labor market: Job gains in the payroll survey of 337,000 were double consensus forecasts. The unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 5.5 percent, mostly as a result of a large increase of 367,000 in the labor force. Hourly earnings continue to outpace inflation and have increased 2.6 percent this year. In real terms, hourly earnings have risen 2 percent higher over the course of entire Bush presidency. Payroll job growth in October is the highest since last spring, and not just because of hurricane-related construction. Both the household and the payroll surveys report strong gains, with new jobs totaling 298,000 and 337,000, respectively. Pessimists, grasping at straws, will try to “blame” the good news on construction employment after Florida’s hurricanes, but construction added only 71,000 jobs: robust, but really just icing on the cake. Quote Let's use our Budget on National Defense and not OFFENCE. Oh like John Kerry's so-called plan to use the global test? Wait until we get hit again by terrorists and then react. What American city would you like to see attacked and thousands of people murdered? If I get you right, then we need to go to the UN and ask them if it would be OK to retaliate against those whom did us harm right? Then we just have to hope that the UN is not in some sort of payoff setup like they were with saddam. Quote Are you a Palace Fan? Sure.

Army, In first place your concern for Iraq is flimsy by plenty of historical events. Still I will take it on face value. I have two problems with freedom rant. One that , it is not the reason for invading Iraq. It's an excuse to defend raiding Iraq. Even Iraq talked about freeing Kuwait. Second, that this freedom is restricted to urban centers and more importantly, it is ephemeral. Iraq before embargoes was a country with liberal outlook. It's not that being proactive is wrong, but choosing terrorsim as an excuse to drive personal agenda is paramount to siding with terrorism. Bush is face of oil lobby and you know it when oil prices went up on news of his election. How do you like a president who fights war for personal whims? It reeks of tribal ages. 3. For economy now. Things look good today because there is incremental improvement. But in absolute terms it is pathetic. You borrow massively and bring BMW and a penthouse and show-case it as progress? Let me concede that Bush came at a time when cyclical recession was due and tax cuts helped as temporary boost. That will not take away the fact that recovery took much longer because of Iraq war threat that loomed long and then has been lingering for long. 4. Kerry as invitation to mass threats. 5. Some other sundry points. Gay marriage was opposed by both. Abortion while killing child is also about avoiding unwanted and unloved lives. I appreciate your faith in conservative values and I relate to it but I think you have to evaluate the person whom you are voting for. 6. You can breathe, so environment is not an issue for you, right? So I won't even talk about it. The biggest wrong that Bush has wrought on US is that he has taken away the focus from real issues that affect everyone (economy & environment), turned focus on non-issue (Iraq by invasion& morality in election) and you have paid for it and will pay for long (high oil price & massive deficit to be followed by Dollar depreciation and Argentina like inflation). Valid points raised by Tsatck and mikeyeagle in the discussion. I think I will like to have another discussion by Bush opposers where we think of positive things that Bush might still be able to do for US and the world in general. I am asking for discussions because I am myself short on such ideas. regards,

Iraq liberated? Piss off. Since we invaded Iraq, 100,000 civilians have died. Has everybody knows Blair and Bush sent our men to war to rid Iraq of WMD's that they knew never exisited after the gulf war. I do not enjoy being lied to at all but was prepared to put it to the side seeing as we got rid of an evil dicator. But that was never the main reason for going to Iraq. It was oil and to make billions for American companies. All the contracts went to Americans none went to us (despite all the hard work we had put into Basra). A lot of the contracts just happend to go to companies that happen to be associated with that prick Dick Cheney (or whoever he is). They even got rid of the Iragi national curency and replaced it with the dollar! Will Iraq ever be liberated? Eventually, I hope. But it shouldn't be the American soldiers who do it. What they are doing now, getting rid of the trouble (I can't remeber where it is) is what they do best. The main problem, peackeeping. Should be done under the supervision of us the British. Our soldiers have more and better experiance of this kind of thing so would do a better job. Obviously we don't have ebough soldiers out there so we should be allowed to train the USA soldiers into doiong the peackeeping side of the job properly. Oh and douobt very much your a palace fan. i think you just found this site and tried to spread your evil bush/republican/Bible bashing opinions.

Army Bratt - There was more to "pissing the world off" than Iraq (which I assume you refer to when you say the "corrupt" UN, France, Germany etc. For a start, why did the greatest polluter on the planet pull out of the Kyoto accords? Why is the U.S. the only major Western country to not sign up to the International Criminal Court (which would be putting the likes of Hussein on trial)? Why does the U.S. continue to prop up Israel and back its every move? Regarding your points on Iraq - if this was such a benevolent humanitarian intervention, why didnt Bush Snr do the job back in 1990? The worst of Saddam's atrocities had been committed in the late 80's! Do you not think that if Bin Laden was "got" then Bush would be screaming it from the rooftops? Or at least pointing to the prospect you offered (that he is buried under Tora Bora). As for the Liberals being out to eliminate Christianity, give it a break. Thats possibly the worst, most unfounded accusation I've heard yet. Liberals promoting choice is entirely different. Of course I take this all back if it turns out that wild packs of liberals are going round razing every church in America to the ground And on a final, general note - I'm well aware that my points regard U.S. foreign policy. I don't know enough about domestic policy, so I will leave that open to debate. I just believe that as the U.S. has quite so much power, and at a time of war especially, foreign policy carries an extra weight of importance. Edited by Legal Eagle (08 Nov 2004 4:38pm)
