I saw Brian Snowden make one of his handful of appearances for Palace toward the end of his career. I think he had played for Portsmouth(?). He was truly awful. I have a very strong memory of BS stumbling to the ground in the opposition penalty area in another failed attempt to control the ball when an unseen (to me) gentleman chose a moment of quiet to loudly voice an acute observation .. "you are a bloody cart horse Snowden!" Not the wittiest or most original comment ever, but it did raise a laugh and may well have been heard by Mr Snowden (who left Palace shortly afterwards). Indeed, at that stage, his footballing skills did resemble those of the aforementioned beast.
