It's simple class war guys: The Miner's Strike (where was the Countryside alliance when millions of rural miners lost their livelihood?) Poll Tax etc PAYBACK! Personally I couldn't care less but every member of the countryside alliance that I have met is a complete tosser (and as I work in politics I meet a fair few). So Sod them.

to stu 7986. as balham burner points out, the miners lost there jobs to the government, as has the fishing industry lost jobs due to successive governments not sticking up to our rights around our coast and telling the french and spanish to ship in their own waters.

i find it stupid when thousands of rich plonkas from the country turned up to the Labour conference to demonstrate against Foxhunting, and only hundreds turned up to demonstrate about third world debt and unfair trade.
